As a person who's always on the lookout for new, obscure music and a non-Prime shopper, I will probably not experience Prime Music. That being said, as @mishachellam mentioned, I think it's a great way for Amazon to entice more customers to take the plunge and convert into Prime users. If I ever start using Amazon as much as @MarketerGraham does, then I'll convert too!
Totally agree with @davidkmckinney - I think Spotify's already taken huge leaps in combatting the 'I must own it' point of view, especially with enabling offline playback.
Anyone know if there are plans to expand the catalogue? How limited is it at present?
@lylemckeany@mishachellam I doubt if it's ever meant as a compelling standalone offer. Highly possible it is just a piece of the puzzle, usually as JB is about to bring together. Books, movies, series & music; what if it all came free and a device for only $99/year?
Offering free with Prime - another great example of "music sells everything but music". Tie in with Prime, tie in with Amazon shopping. Music is a small acquisition cost in grand scheme of things
