I cofounded and recently launched - an eCommerce API that lets developers add new revenue streams for their products by adding eCommerce and checkout into any app or website. Ask me anything about Rye, entrepreneurship, eCommerce, and crypto. I'll be answering questions on Friday, the 14th of October!

Hey!! How did you acquire your first Beta users when you founded Twitch? And also how did you do the initial user testing and collection of feedback? I am just launching my startup and need tips on how to get from 50 to 1,000 users (We are building a search engine that connects your work apps and let you search them all through a unified interface).
We ported over our base of gaming streamers from Justin.tv. But we also just reached out to everyone we could find who was streaming on another site and asked them to stream on Twitch.
thanks and impressive. What was the value proposition for the streamers to change the platform they already used?
Hey Justin, what are you the values of Rye? What considerations are you making in technology and governance? I see Rye is being built on Solana. Have you considered building a Rye blockchain? There are major trade offs building on top of a different chain: no control of the underlying technology, limited by what smart contracts can do, no control of Solana governance, and subjected to variation of fees. With a Rye blockchain you can create a completely specific chain that you own as a community and you can design completely natively, upgradable, and far less external risks, and without limitation. Long term a better approach in enabling Rye to be an unstoppable decentralised organism. Short term, building on Solana would be good for prototyping. Would be great to explore further, contribute and steward? Will there be a central coordinated team, or open up grant funding to wider participants? Cheers, Ramsey
check out , it can be much more viable in time and resources to build a bespoke chain, doesn’t need a huge team. And there’s a lot of generalised substrate based tools and interfaces. Gavin Wood, co-founder and the builder of Ethereum, lead the team who build the substrate framework, which is used to build Polkadot.
Saw you with Joma on YouTube. Why didn't you stick with Twitch?
we sold it to Amazon
Will Rye enable e-commerce on crypto rails? I.e. Crypto payments & delivery oracles?
Would it be possible to build Rye without crypto? What does crypto enable for the product/company that wouldn't otherwise be possible? I am imagining an on-chain matching engine for orders/inventory, similar to a decentralized token exchange, but I am not sure if this is an accurate mental model.
What are your thoughts about AI?
It is here to stay and will impact our society in ways we don't even understand now. But we will always find more things for humans to do, don't worry.
How do you feel about crypto and NFTs?
NFTs are going to be an important way that we determine ownership of things online. Crypto is here to stay.
Congrats on the launch!
How do you know its time to move on from a project and start another?
Good job
