Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Casa, the maker of AltG. As an Obsidian user and someone who constantly does online research, I had a persistent problem: My workflow between the browser and my local knowledge base was completely broken. When researching a topic, I'd usually open 10+ tabs. Saving them meant endless, repetitive work: taking a screenshot, copying the URL, copying the page content, pasting everything into Obsidian, and trying to format it so I wouldn't lose the original context. It was exhausting. Most web clippers out there either force you into their new cloud workspace or only handle one page at a time. I didn't want another cloud drive; I just wanted my data in my local folders. That’s why I built AltG. It’s designed for the "Local-First" community (Obsidian lovers, local PKM builders, and anyone feeding clean markdown to local LLMs). Here is what you can do with AltG: * Batch Markdown Capture: Save the readable content of all your open tabs into clean Markdown files directly to your local folder or Obsidian vault with one click. * Batch Screenshots: Capture full-page or visible area screenshots of multiple tabs at once. * Keep the Context: Every saved file or image keeps its original source URL, page title, and timestamp. No more "where did I find this?" * 100% Local-First: Your data goes directly to the directory you choose. We don't host your notes. I built this to scratch my own itch, and it has saved me hours of manual data entry every week. I’d love to know: What does your current browser-to-Obsidian/PKM workflow look like? Does AltG fit into it? Any feedback, questions, or feature requests are highly appreciated! Let's chat in the comments! 👇
