AI coding is turning marketing into builders
I trained as a developer originally.
Then spent the next 25+ years mostly in marketing
For a long time those felt like two fairly separate parts of my career.
Not anymore
AI coding has started joining them back together
A few years ago, if I had an idea for a product, I had three options:
Find a technical co-founder.
Hire developers.
Or write a brief and hope somebody else interpreted what was in my head correctly
With AICRM something different happened.
I could take years of marketing experience, frustrations, workflows and little bits of “why the hell does software still work like this?”..
…and turn them directly into working product behaviour.
Not just prototypes.
Actual features.
The Daily Brief nudging users about follow-ups and outstanding tasks.
AI enrichment and signals.
Segmentation.
Campaign creation.
CRM actions through conversation.
Things I previously would have described in a requirements document can now become software while the idea is still fresh in my head
That feels like a pretty fundamental shift?
AI coding isn't just making developers faster.
Its changed who gets to build software in the first place.
Designers can build.
Operators can build.
Marketers can build.
Domain experts who understand a problem deeply can increasingly turn that knowledge into software without needing a traditional product team between the idea and the implementation
That doesn't mean engineering suddenly doesn't matter
Far from it
But the distance between I know this problem intimately and i can build something that tries to solve it has collapsed
AICRM probably wouldn't exist without that change
And I'm increasingly wondering whether some of the most interesting software over the next few years will come from people who weren't primarily software developers at all.
What domain do you know well enough that, if building software suddenly became 10x easier, you'd build something for it?
