Abstracts delivers abstracts of articles written by real people ... real people? Sounds cool. Here's an example of one abstract -https://addabstract.com/abstract...
Cool idea. I just did the sign up and started to follow the Ben Evans abstract account. Looks like you have a plan here with these separate Twitter accounts, not sure what it is yet, but I like it! (Hint: Please explain here!)
Please connect Instapaper, too :)
Overall, this is sorely needed. My use case is thus: I've stopped reading TechCrunch, HackerNews, etc. more than maybe once a week because it just. takes. too. long. 2-3 sentence summaries as a filtering mechanism would actually *increase* my readership because I wouldn't be afraid of jumping into an article and getting lost in info I don't need, realising later on that I just wasted my time.
TechCrunch and the rest of the tech news media crowd unfortunately didn't do what I would have expected them -- as TECH media -- to do, which is re-think article reading for the tech generation. Moments is a genuine competitor here -- bite-sized info for us to scan and "get" before diving in. I'm not sure how Moments works yet (they haven't released in Japan yet π) but this looks like it could fit well as a source of content for them.
Excited to see how this plays out! Hit me up if you want some more detailed feedback as a user.
