Hi hunters! Today we're launching 1Password Secrets Automation, a new way to secure, orchestrate, and manage your company’s infrastructure secrets. Our customers have been asking for a way to bring the secrets they store in 1Password to the machines and services that need them, without sacrificing privacy or security. Instead of managing multiple, disconnected systems, they wanted a single source of truth. So we built Secrets Automation. It’s the same 1Password you know and love, now for all your company secrets—human and machine. Learn more at 1Password.com/secrets
🎉 do you need a specific account type to take advantage of this?
Nope! Any 1Password Account can use Secrets Automation.
wow. basically 1Password increased dramatically its TAM today with this launch. Well done, guys.
Yeesssss...this is a dev's dream come true! Thanks 1P!!
Our pleasure! Let us know what you think once you've had a chance to dig in! Here, the forums, or hit us up anywhere else!
Exciting stuff - interested in integration with Github and Azure before we can use it though.
Thanks for the feedback! We will continue to launch new integrations! Can I assume the GitHub integration you mean is the Actions API for CI/CD? What are you looking to accomplish with an Azure integration?
Two main places my system uses secrets: Github Actions secrets for the CI/CD side, then Azure App Service "App Settings" for prod usage. I think the App Settings can be set up to inherit from Azure Key Vault instead, so perhaps an integration with Azure Key Vault? I know it's kind of a competitor to your product, but I'd rather manage this stuff all in 1Password and have it pushed to Azure somehow.
Wow, this is very smart... and helps explain where the is going!
This is very cool. Can't wait to start using it!
Just this afternoon I met a gal who told me "oh i use just one password for everything.." and I replied "thats insane, you actually need 1password, hurry now..". Not a dev, but love this company. This is exactly the right move for the company, with GDPR on our backs, increased security from health care angles because of rampant ransomware, its just like yes and more yes. This is the kind of thing that needs to go waaaaay beyond devops crew, its gotta be marketed to CEOs and CIOs that want to be here in 10 years or less really heh.
There is definitely a need for this! Great product 🙌🏽
Any integration with AWS IAM / CLI / SSM or CircleCI? There are two places we could really use this
We have plans to build there! Thanks for the feedback. We want to make it easy to use the secrets you store in 1Password in every part of your workflow.
