Our ultra-fast Daily: Three takes on new products. Yesterday’s top ten launches. That’s it.

Most upvoted product last month 💻🏆
In a shocking twist, the iPhone X was not the most upvoted product last month. That honor goes to Sublime Text 3, which now lets you code from the Touch Bar. Our new kitty mascot came in third. 😸⛵️

A recap of the most important product launches:

🖥 Trello launched a desktop app (what will happen to Paws?)
📱 The magical Notion editor is now available on iOS
💫 Atlassian created an end-to-end design language
📐 Of the dozens of AR measuring apps, this was the top one
💬 Botletter delivers your newsletters on Facebook Messenger
📊 The Snappr team created a database of Y Combinator companies
📖 We published a book on how to build a career in tech
🔋 Pi Charger is the world's first contactless wireless charger
💳 Petal introduced a simple no-fee credit card

Hey Product Hunt friends! Nina Stepanov here, feeling blessed to be taking over the PH newsletter today. 🙌

This email is one of the best parts of my day so I'd like to give back by sharing my most used hunts, along with 3 tips for getting the most out of this community.

Tip 1: Keep Up! There are a ton of new products shared every day. Upvote your favorites and come back to them on your profile.

Tip 2: Get Organized. I always have at least 1 (usually 5 or 6) tabs open, so I use a mixture of OneTab, The Great Suspender, and Spectacle to enjoy them now, later, and side by side. Yes, I am a little OCD. 😬

Tip 3: Add Value. Even though PH one-liners get my click time and again, comments (and now reviews) are a blessing. PH is more fun with friends, so I try to share the love by contributing. You can get contributor access here. 💌

Bonus: I put together a collection of my 22 All-Time Favorite Products (like Helium) and little-known apps (like ItsyCal) I use everyday. 👩‍💻

P.S. I’m looking to join an awesome startup in NYC. If you’re interested in hiring someone in growth and operations, contact me.

Tweet 280 characters with this secret hack 🐥
2016: GIF button 🛎
2017: 280 characters 🐥
2018: GIF profile pics 🙋
2019: Editing tweets 🏆

Twitter the product has continued to evolve over the years and remains the best place to courageously publish content without an edit button. In a surprise move yesterday, the company announced an experiment: extending the character limit from 140 to 280.

The reaction has been mixed, with some saying "280-character limit is terrible", and others looking forward to the new wave of Twitter comedians that the new expanded format will bring. Share your thoughts on Twitter's 280 character limit.

Here's what you need to know: A community member just built a Chrome Extension that lets you tweet with 280 characters. We've tested it and it actually works. Nice work, Thomas. 👏
Find a dope remote job 👊
Working remotely isn't just a calculated tradeoff between your favorite office perks and not getting out of bed, it's also about the flexibility of working from anywhere.

In fact, remote workers that come into the office on a rare occasion are very likely traveling the world working from the beach one week, and from Philz Coffee the next, while you are stuck at your standing desk.

Epic founder stories 🤑📈
You won't become a founder by reading a book, but you can learn from other people’s challenges, successes, and journey starting up.

This collection of Founder Stories has some interesting resources to learn from as you navigate through your own journey in startups.

Notable highlights:
• The Careers of the Founders (a timeline)
Visual Biographies (infographics)
• The Speed of a Unicorn (not miles per hour)
• From Millions to Billions (see image above)
• This is for the Crazy Ones (also for sane ones)

Lastly, learn how developers are writing their own paychecks. 🤑
The biggest innovation since copy & paste 👀
iOS 11 is packed with new features, but the most meaningful addition is taking place behind the scenes. ARKit makes it easier for developers to place virtual objects in real-world settings, bringing Snapchat-like AR tracking and facial recognition capabilities to small teams.

"The future is already here — it's just not very evenly distributed."

ARKit will unleash a wave of creativity, as developers everywhere can now create experiences that looks and feels like the future so many books and films have imagined. So far, we’ve only seen a glimpse.

Adam askedWhat's the coolest AR app you can download now?

Giphy's new app brings GIFs to augmented reality, and a 17-year old maker made an app that helps you learn about the solar system from your parking lot. The broader trend is: measuring apps:

It looks like AR measuring apps are 2008’s flashlight apps. AirMeasure lets you measure the distance between any two points in 3D space, Magicplan allows you to create entire floor plans in minutes, and AR MeasureKit will measure anything. 📐

But ARKit can do more than simply measure things. It can teach you to dance and even recreate the Moon landing in your kitchen.

🔮 Upcoming AR Products

We’ll see several more cool ARKit-powered ideas launching on Product Hunt over the next few months. Until then, subscribe to these upcoming products* for a sneak peek into the future:

🌲 A Stanford team is bringing your childhood arcade to life
🐼 A 17 year-old quit his job and moved to SF to build Panda
🐉 The founder of HappyGiant wants you to battle monsters
💎 Solidhaus lets you visualize any 3D object in real life

This app is going viral with teens 👶
The App Store got a shiny new redesign and there's a new #1 app that's going viral with the teens. 👶

tbd is where your friends tell you what they really think, anonymously. But unlike similar apps of its kind, tbh is all about relentless positivity! 💕

Users can only communicate by exchanging compliments, which are sent via in-app polls. Adam Besvinick says: "One of my favorite parts of this app is that every question has a positive / funny vibe to it."

And that is exactly what tbh gets so right about anonymity: users aren't able to very easily bully people. That has been the downfall of similar apps like Secret (RIP) and Sarahah (which has fallen down from the Top Charts already).

tbh is also beautifully designed and has a fun gamification element to it that will make you want to keep answering. 😜📊

Fun Fact: The founders have chosen to remain anonymous themselves, but you can ask them anything here and they'll respond. 👥

Every app is updating 😱
Why is every single app updating this morning? Because iOS 11 is here! Apple's latest operating system will be ready to download for normals (non-developers) later today. If you're one of the lucky few hundred thousand with early access, share with the community what you think are the best iOS 11 features.

Here's what we read on the internets:

🔴 Screen Recording: At long last, Apple will allow you to record your own screen, a feature Android has had for years.

🐱 Animoji: The greatest innovation since the invention of the internet. Available when the iPhone X ships. We'll be waiting.

🕹 Control Center: Massive overhaul, with the ability to customize the toggles you really want/need. Just like Android.

📝 Notes App: Apples continues to improve the world's most popular default notes editor, bringing it closer to Evernote and Bear.

📸 Screenshots: Ability to immediately edit/markup screenshots before sharing it, similar to Instabug.

🗄 Files: A brand new standalone app to manage your files if Dropbox isn't working.

🤖 Text to Siri: Siri is getting a massive overhaul in an attempt to find product-market fit.

💵 Pay in iMessage: Like Venmo and Square Cash, but with the ability to include iMessage effects for urgency.

😮 ARKit: The coolest innovation since the invention of Animoji.

iOS and Android are copying the best things from each other as they begin to feel increasingly similar. “I don’t really think it matters what mobile OS you use these days. They are both really great.” says Fred Wilson. 🙏
