End screen addiction
This newsletter was brought to you byWispr FlowHappy Monday legends! Welcome back to the Leaderboard. In today's edition, we're diving into a fitness app that breaks screen addiction, an app that could protect your loved ones, and some more AI magic. We're also taking a look at some of the most popular discussions on Product Hunt Forums.
One way to end screen addiction
Fitlock: Locks your screen until you hit a fitness goal.
It’s way too easy to get stuck scrolling for hours instead of moving—trust me, I’ve been there. Fitlock flips that around by locking apps until you hit a fitness goal, which honestly feels like a smart way to trick myself into healthier habits. Yeah, I could just turn it off, but even as a gentle nudge, it’s a solid way to break out of a sedentary routine. If willpower isn’t cutting it, this might be just the push you need.
Tech for good
Checkinbee: Daily check-ins on your loved ones.
I’m not at the point of needing this for my parents yet, but when I do, Checkinbee would be on my radar. Getting alerts for potential accidents is great, especially for community groups, but long-term, these tools need to be more proactive. Instead of a daily text check-in, could it sync with a phone, watch, or computer to detect movement automatically? Texts work for now, but future generations will need something more seamless—like an alert that pings the person first before notifying family. The less effort required, the better.
Filters are evolving
Pikadditions: Brings your images to life with AI
In the era of stories and the battle between snap & IG we were gifted with filters, playful ways to layover animations and add some "life" to our videos or photos. Typically AR as needed to really take advantage of this. It feels like now with advancements of AI, we can move away from IRL AR fitlers and more towards Green Screen production. Pika Additions proves that we can simply record, prompt, and add to create something similar, if not better, than filters with less device hardware needed.
Are you really still typing?

Full disclosure: Wispr Flow is the AI dictation tool most of us at Product Hunt (use we still have a few holdout typers, what romantics). Hold a key, talk, and clean text drops straight into whatever app you're already in — Slack, email, Notion, your IDE, wherever your cursor lives. No switching windows. No copy-paste ritual. Just say the thing – yes, you can whisper it – and even your most run-on sentences will be turned into polished writing at 4x the speed of typing.
