In order to effectively support your social media manager, consider providing them with clear goals and expectations, consistent feedback, access to necessary tools and resources, training opportunities, and a supportive environment where they feel free to innovate and take risks, all while ensuring they have an optimal work-life balance to prevent burnout.

@griffinroger19 And especially, communication. I was in the team where my questions were ignored. It was annoying and sometimes upsetting. Then I was perceived as a person who hadn't been able to manage tasks. And when I did it incorrectly, I was blamed that I was supposed to ask first. LOL.

Try to share your supposed roadmap and suggestions along the way. Feedback is important.

Great tips! Supporting your Social Media Manager with the right tools, data, and integration is crucial for achieving great results. This will not only enhance their efficiency but also empower them to make data-driven decisions.

Definitely with the right tools that take away as much of the 'manual' labour as possible. If there is only one person managing the content but also the engagement side of things, make sure to give them time away from social media/ set clear expectations on engagement hours, so that they don't get emotionally overwhelmed and burn out. Social media is incredibly taxing on mental health... making sure your SMM is happy mentally, will benefit everyone.

@irma_lafleur How do you prevent yourself from overburning at work? Because when I am paid at an hourly rate, I have to do some things that are time extensive. What are your tips? Maybe maximum hours worked in a month, relaxation techniques,... what are your tips?

@busmark_w_nika That is such a great question. Honestly, I struggled with this for a VERY long time. I had this overwhelming need to 'respond to/clear out notifications' within minutes of them coming in, which obviously worked wonders for growing our social platforms but did the complete opposite for my sanity. I think the best advice I can give: 1. Try and time block your 'engagement times' - ie. every 3 hours check all socials, like, comment, repost, share, answer DMs, etc. Instead of checking all day, every minute of the day. 2. Try not to touch your phone within the first 30 minutes of waking up or the last 30 minutes before bed - checking your phone spikes your cortisol levels, which causes your body to start your day in a state of stress... which just sets you up for a crappy day. 3. If your organization is big enough - try to split social media into two roles: 1. Content creation & management 2. Engagement (this can be a CX role) 4. Try your very best to separate your personal identity with the identity of the brand you are managing - people are ruthless on the internet, try to keep reminding yourself that their comments are not an attack on YOU personally. Try not to take them personally. I hope that helps a bit :) SMM do not deserve nearly enough credit for the work they do. People assume it's just a light, fun job but it's really so much more.

@irma_lafleur The last one is crucial for me. When comes to time scheduling, I work 4 hours (approximately) in the morning and 3 hours in the evening (midnight). This time frame is good for me but contradictory to point 2. šŸ˜…

How would you suggesting finding one?

@psd If you are a big company, I would recommend something like an HR platform, but if you are looking for freelancers, you can try Upwork or Fiverr. :-) I used it also, but now I am more available for consultations. Shifting my knowledge to the TOP! šŸš€ I created a list of similar platforms, I think it could be somewhere but have to find it. Lol.
