I was recently reminded of @Dockhunt and how fun it was to see what kinds of apps different folks kept in their dock. I remember it being a cool way to discover some new products I hadn't seen before. I'm also just a big fan of desktop apps over web apps. I find it a lot easier to stay focused when I'm flipping between apps vs flipping between tabs.

These are the apps in my dock:

• @Google Chrome - Pretty basic. I've really been considering switching over to @Horse though.

• @Slack - The de facto option.

• @Superhuman - Maybe the fastest I've become a fan of a product. I think I was pushing it on others within a few hours.

• @Notion - Great for documentation and collaborating. I also use it personally for tracking books I read and video games I play, along with tracking personal projects.

• Notion Calendar - The menu bar aspect of this is really what sold me. It makes it so much easier to stay on top of my meetings every day.

• @Linear - We just recently switched over to Linear here at @Product Hunt and I've been loving it. Pro tip: if you prefer the desktop app, there's a setting to open links in the app, but you can only set that option through the web version.

• @iTerm2 - I've tried others, but this is my favorite. This + @Neovim is just

• @Claude by Anthropic - This has been my LLM of choice for a while, and I really like having it as a desktop app. Especially the keyboard shortcut to quickly bring it up and ask something.

• @Tandem - Super easy to stay in touch and sync with teammates. Incredibly useful for a remote team.

• @Spotify - I typically have a YouTube video on in the background, but if I'm writing or doing something more focused, I'll typically have some kind of Jazz going.

I'm looking for tools to help me brief clients and get their answers in voice format. Recently, I found @Yapz It really impressed me. Simple to use, the delightful format of briefing people, only a positive experience. The only downside is that I cannot see the whole call transcript, which is crucial for me. Are there any free/cheap AI alternatives that makes summaries of answers and saves transcripts at the same time?

The last few months have blown me away not for the announcements but for the actual use tools like Cursor, Windsurf and the even recent ones like Bolt or Lovable.
As someone who has no knowledge of coding, I have been up during nights materialising the product in my head into an web/app that I can run on my device - all through conversational english. With such pace and removal of barriers, what do you think the next phase of software development would be and what will be the differentiator that defines your(could be your product) success?

I m exploring how websites that rely on AI-generated content manage updates when underlying information changes or new information needs to be added. For example: if an AI writes an article about "Best Practices for SEO in 2023," how do you efficiently update it to "2024" incorporating new additions in a coherent way without regenerating the entire piece?

Regenerating the whole article would be inefficient as it could erase formatting, disrupt internal links. Also it probably wouldn't send the right signal to search engines where whole article changes for every update.

In yesterday's discussion by @aaronoleary, there were a few thoughts about using robots at home.

In this context, several questions occurred to me.

For example, what will happen to the future of humans if we delegate most of the manual and mental work to machines? How will we handle our free time? How will people be rewarded?

I recently installed @Augment Code based on an ad somewhere, and I'm super impressed, but haven't heard a peep about it in most channels. But it got me wondering what else I'm missing. This is a crowded field with a few frontrunners and a lot of more esoteric newcomers, but I want to know about the ones that blow your mind but hardly get any coverage.

@rajiv_ayyangar and I have talked a lot about what applications, devices, and codebases have most influenced our thinking and careers. Photoshop is high on that list for me.
For many years it was the most reliable application I used regularly, bar none. In a world where we just expected the Windows blue screen and the little Mac unhappy icon to happen regularly, Photoshop never crashed. Even though both its feature set complexity and working data set size were much larger than most other apps of the time.
Photoshop was also truly cross platform. It worked the same way on Windows and Mac. This is hard!
It had a plugin system. Indie developers built great extensions for Photoshop.
And it had a credits screen that you saw every time the app loaded, with the names of all the programmers who worked on it!

I can't find a reference to Proxy having an API. Any plans to launch this? Having an API and allowing for structured outputs would put you in front of ChatGPT and open up so many use cases.

With AI agents and assistants are becoming more advanced, we're seeing them handle everything from scheduling meetings to managing entire workflows.

But here s the big question would you fully trust an AI to run tasks autonomously, or would you prefer keeping an eye on things just in case?

I feel like Product Hunt is getting that Reddit vibe when it comes to Forums.
