Can an AI Assistant Finally Deliver on Its Promise?

How would you use AI to automate insights from multiple data sources? 🤔

Hi PH community!

We've been steadily improving Tower over the past few months, with huge progress since 2024.
Tower now connects directly to your data, automatically builds semantics, transformations, and dashboards, and generates actionable insights in minutes.

New in 2025.10:

  • Tower Pipelines: Combine multiple sources (HubSpot, Snowflake, Airtable, Excel, Databricks, MS SQL, Tally Prime, and more) without a separate ETL tool

  • Tablet Apps: AI-native dashboards for iOS & Android

  • Smarter AI analytics & new connectors

  • Intelligent data transforms

  • Tons of performance and UI/UX improvements

✅ POLL: Do you think GPT-5 plays it safe compared to earlier LLMs?

I have been around since the GPT-3 days, and one thing I ve noticed with GPT-5 is how careful it has become.

One clear difference between GPT-5 and the earlier 4o model is a kind of hesitation when it comes to certain topics, be it macroeconomics, politics, or anything nuanced.

How do you stop yourself from scrolling brainrot and stay focused on work?

This came to my mind when I read about how the creation of Sora has raised concerns that it could be an AI equivalent of TikTok (critics warning it could fall into the same addictive patterns as other social platforms).

And after several messages with some people, I also noticed how I wasted a lot of time on my desktop instead of doing something productive or learning.

Is October the best month to launch on Product Hunt?

By tradition, every first day of the month I open hunted.space and scroll back through previous years. Today, I checked October 2024 and what I saw was fascinating.

Unlike September 2024 (which was crazy strong in 2024: six products over 1000 upvotes, 6 more than 900 upvotes and more than ten over 800), October looked very different.

Only one single product passed 1000 upvotes: bolt.new (with exactly 1003) which has been performing brilliantly and organized the largest online hackathon a few months ago.

When you launched on a product hunt, what successes did it bring you?

The most common success that I noticed with several makers during launch day was:

  • an enormous increase in traffic or

  • being featured in a newsletter (Product Hunt newsletter)

Are humanoids just an unburst bubble with no future?

I have seen (let's say) quite a lot of hardware robots to be launched on Product Hunt, and we tend to be bullish about such futuristic things. BUT...

Renowned roboticist Rodney Brooks says that this is only a bubble.

Because of two reasons:

How do you fix small imperfections in AI-generated images without regenerating a whole new one?

Sometimes, I generate images for my blogs using ChatGPT. There are times when it generates an almost perfect image but with minor imperfections.

If I write a prompt again requesting it to fix the imperfection, it generates a totally new image which is not as per my expectation.

Best JetBrains plugins?

To JetBrains users: what are your most recommended plugins?
I'm currently playing around with @Kilo Code for JetBrains (launching this Sunday) and I'd like to make the most out of this experience.

Thanks! cc @zmirnofa

TopazLabs Moves to Subscription-Only - Your Thoughts as Creators?

Hey folks , recently, TopazLabs (well-known in the AI video/image enhancement space) announced they're shifting from lifetime licenses to subscriptions only. That's sparked a lot of chatter - some say subscriptions feel cheaper upfront, but many users feel it becomes more expensive long term, especially since canceling can be tricky and refunds are limited.

We're curious to hear what the Product Hunt community thinks about this shift:

As a user, do you prefer subscriptions or lifetime licenses? Do you see a difference between desktop apps vs. online/cloud apps? Why?

As an AI developer or maker, which pricing model makes you feel more confident investing in for the long term?

How to build relationships with influencers when you want to promote your product?

This is more of a feedback for marketers who are trying to establish contact with bigger influencers.

Thanks to my experience from "both sides", I noticed certain patterns that could work better and satisfaction would be on both sides. :)

Which cities outside of SF are becoming large Startup Hubs?

I've recently seen more cities that are growing teams and building offices that seem to be growing rapidly?
SF seems like it's one of many hubs that have been growing in the recent years. I'm trying to see which cities people are looking into and where people think will be the next startup hub?
I've seen mixed opinions on cities like New York and Toronto but would love to hear what other people think as well!

Which companies would you invest in if they were freely tradable?

Some companies are love brands for me, and I d like to support them. Others I see growing, and I d love to ride the wave. :D

Do you have any companies you d like to invest in, but that don t have a public offering yet? Which ones?

T–24h: We launch tomorrow — quick gut check on Product Discovery?

Launch is tomorrow (Sep 19).
For day one we re spotlighting Product Discovery only.

What it does: you describe what you need (size/fit, budget, style/season). It brings back 2 3 real matches and explains why using specs, stock, price, and a short review snippet. No cart actions just help deciding.

I d love your quick take on three things:

  • Inputs: what would you share up front vs. later?

  • Proof: what seals trust side-by-side compare, why this bullets, review snippet, shipping/returns shown up front?

  • UI: How many options max?

Why don’t we see more health longevity products here?

Everywhere else I look podcasts, social media, even casual discussions  longevity is a hot topic. Bryan Johnson, for example, shows up in my feed constantly.

For me, health-tech feels like the most valuable thing we could be building. Not just extending life expectancy, but actually improving quality of life.

What activities to do after the PH launch?

Yesterday, we discussed how many times it is beneficial to launch on this platform.

With each launch, there is a benefit of "exposing yourself".
