What are your weekend goals? 🧠✨

Hey PH community!

I ve been thinking a lot about how weekends are a great time to reset, catch up, or make progress on side projects or personal goals whether it's shipping something small, cleaning up a Notion board, reading that book you ve been meaning to, or just unplugging completely.

What is one business advice you'd give your younger self?

Building and launching products, testing them in real markets and building a business are like mini-MBAs. It teaches you a lot of things about human behavior, finance, marketing, sales, entrepreneurship, management and more.

We become wiser; and wish someone had given us the right advice at the right time.

⚖️ Work-Life Balance in Startups: Realistic Goal or Wishful Thinking?

Hey Product Hunt Friends!

Startup life is often seen as exciting but stressful, with blurred lines between work and personal life. Many founders and makers advocate hustle culture, while others emphasize balance and wellness.

Sponsorship vs. charging users, what would you do when your side project starts to grow?

A couple of months ago I launched lovableprompts.app, a tool that turns rough product ideas into optimized prompts for Lovable or others vibe coding platforms (Bolt, Cursor, Replit...)

It started as a fun side experiment. Now it s used by 10k+ users, has generated thousands of products, and is slowly becoming a core part of many makers workflows.

Share the most beautiful websites that have caught your attention

I believe every project should have a website to showcase its offering, not to mention for SEO purposes. Whether SEO will still be relevant due to AI is another discussion.

Do you have any favourite websites that are both functional and beautifully designed?

What’s the most "invisible” product you can’t live without?

We re working on smart home tech that aims to be invisible, useful, and quietly perfect in the background.

It s got me thinking

Do you think summer is a good season for launching?

I ve heard a lot of people say summer is a bad time to launch on Product Hunt.

Everyone s on vacation. No one s on their laptop. Don t even bother.

How do you manage the chaos as a founder?

Hey everyone,

I find myself bouncing between CRM's, data room solutions, fundraising trackers, project boards, product versions high level dashboards, and more...

My question is, how do you keep track of everything? is there a platform for first timers, or anyone really starting a venture? sort of a home for founders, where those features are in a single place, and no need to break the wallet for each one of them separately.

Curious to hear what you guys think? does this exist? Would this even be useful? or am I the only one struggling with this?

How do you spend your weekends?

One of the most interesting things to me is how culture shapes our weekends.

Some people unplug completely. Others treat Saturday like Monday.

How many and what type of subscriptions do you have?

Maybe this post will help makers understand how much people are willing to spend, what products are useful to them, and what the main motive for buying is.

I personally try to keep track of how much and what I spend. Before I invest in something, I consider:

  • what will be the return on it (i.e. whether I will earn something by buying/investing in a product),

  • whether it will be profitable for me in the long term,

  • whether it will save me time.

What’s the one tool in your tech stack that saves you hours every week?

We all have that one tool - the unsung hero quietly doing its job and saving you hours every single week.

For me (no surprise ), it s @Clueso

How do you write email product updates that users actually enjoy?

I keep finding reasons to build more features and bug fixes before sending an email update to our 10k users. In the end, it s been almost 5 months without sending any update. Would love your tips on how to send email updates that the users actually enjoy and care about. Also at what frequency? As a developer I love bare change logs but I m sure it s not optimal for a broader audience. (we are building a video editing app, tellers.ai)

Would you hire someone who has multiple jobs at once?

Yes, I'm kind of referring to the Soham Parekh story that's now taking the internet by storm.

TL;DR: He worked on several startups at the same time, had the best interview results, but according to his employers, he never delivered results. (You can comprehend it from these tweets, e.g. 1, 2)

Rebranding talk

So I am thinking of doing a company rebrand. We are still a startup and very small, but our industry focus has shifted over the past year to 18 months since launched.

What are some things to take into consideration when doing a company rebrand and any advice how to get started?

Marketing for early stage startups

As the founder of an early-stage edtech startup, I've been a little "overwhelmed" with which social media platforms to stick with. I'm not sure which ones to invest most of my time into and which to steer clear of.

Given that target audiences vary between different companies, how successful have you found TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit, and even Product Hunt in gaining traction for your company? Have you spent the money investing in advertisements or "promotions?" Was it worth it?
I've gotten over 100k+ views on some videos, but they haven't been particularly effective in terms of conversions.

Best New Non AI startups of the last decade?

AI is obviously taking over a huge chunk of the tech landscape as of late. But was thinking about over the last 10 years, what are some successful startups that have been made that aren't necessarily AI focused? Maybe they've added some AI tooling in recent years but the foundational aspects of the company aren't based on it. The most recent one I can think of that has hit mainstream success (though founded in 2016, so 9 years old haha) is probably Figma; any others y'all can think of?

Does your company run a community on any platform?

No, at this time, I do not mean social media but something like an enclosed community for the core (top-tier customers).

On Friday, I had a call with a marketing manager at @Crisp and he mentioned this thing.
I know there are more companies that are trying to create more personal connections with paying clients and network among themselves. I love community management, wanna learn from the best and apply the best practices.

Favorite sites for reviewing things?

I love reviewing. My all time favorite site for reviews is probably Metacritic, but of course Yelp, Google Maps reviews, rottentomatoes, and opencritic are great; a lot of hype for Letterboxd lately but it's kinda not been to my taste. Any other recommendations of the best sites out there for reviewing stuff?
