What's great
It’s fantastic because it does something many journaling apps fail to do: it stays simple without feeling limited. Everlog is fast, clean, and beautifully designed, so writing feels natural instead of distracted by clutter. I especially like that it focuses on reflection, not just note-taking, and the comments feature is genuinely original because it lets you revisit past entries and continue the story over time. Add the calendar view, widgets, search, bookmarks, and optional privacy features, and it becomes a thoughtful, elegant diary app that is both easy to use and surprisingly powerful.
What needs improvement
I think the free version could feel a bit more generous, since key features like sync and privacy are important to the core experience for some people. Beyond that, templates, export options, and maybe richer statistics could make the app even stronger without losing its clean identity.
vs Alternatives
I also considered Apple Journal, Day One, and Journal. Apple Journal is interesting because it is built into the Apple ecosystem, but it feels more guided and less flexible. Day One is very polished and feature-rich, but for me, it can feel heavier than what I want from a diary app. Everlog stood out because it sits in a very nice middle ground: elegant, lightweight, focused, and still powerful enough with features like comments, calendar navigation, search, and sync.
What's great
Lovable is fantastic because it makes building real web apps dramatically faster and easier. The interface is excellent, the feature set is rich, and the overall experience feels modern and polished. It helps turn ideas into working products with much less friction than traditional development. For a solo developer like me, that is a huge advantage. I used it for KidBoost.app and FamilyCash.app, and it allowed me to move quickly, iterate easily, and stay focused on the product instead of getting buried in setup and technical overhead.
What needs improvement
The main thing that could be improved is pricing for intensive use. Lovable is an excellent product, but credits are consumed quickly in real development work, which can add up quickly for solo developers and small teams. In my case, 400 credits on a Pro plan lasted only about two weeks, so long-term use can become expensive. A more flexible or more generous credit model would make the platform even more attractive.
vs Alternatives
I also considered other AI app-building tools and coding assistants, but Lovable felt more complete and more polished for the kind of projects I wanted to build. What made the difference for me was the combination of ease of use, interface quality, built-in features, cloud services, and the speed at which I could turn ideas into working apps. It simply gave me the best overall experience for projects like KidBoost.app and FamilyCash.app.
