What’s the best lesson you’ve learned on Product Hunt?

The best lesson I ve learned through my Product Hunt journey is that . I ve had launches where everything felt perfectly aligned , , but they didn t gain traction simply because I didn t prioritize building pre-launch momentum or engaging the community beforehand. On the flip side, I ve also seen products unexpectedly take off when the community genuinely resonated with their story, even if the prep wasn t perfect. Another valuable takeaway? ; . I ve relaunched products after initial setbacks, refined based on feedback, and ended up with surprising success. The journey taught me to listen, adapt, and never take even the smallest wins for granted. What s been your key takeaway?

What Makes Work Harder for You? Let Me Share My Experience

Sometimes it feels like the simplest things turn into the biggest obstacles to productivity. I didn t realize it at first, but small habits and details I ignored were holding me back from making real progress. Here s what made my work harder: 1. An overloaded to-do list. I used to write down everything I needed to do without prioritizing. Every day started with the same question: Where do I begin? What s most important? I often ended up spending my time on urgent, but not necessarily meaningful, tasks. 2. Too many notifications. Emails, messages, app alerts they interrupted me every 10 15 minutes. It might seem minor, but each time, I needed extra effort to refocus on the task at hand. 3. Perfectionism. I d keep tweaking projects endlessly, trying to make them "perfect." This drained my time and energy, and sometimes even led to missed deadlines. 4. Lack of clear boundaries. I would respond to calls and emails at any time, even when it disrupted my focus. This left me feeling like I was always working, but my productivity didn t reflect it. What helped me: A clear to-do list: I started focusing on 2 3 key tasks each day that truly mattered. Everything else became secondary. Turning off unnecessary notifications: I now have set times to check emails and messages, which frees up a lot of mental space. Accepting good enough : Not everything needs to be perfect. Sometimes, it s more important to get the job done well and on time. Setting time boundaries: I reserve specific hours for deep focus and don t allow interruptions during those times. What about you? What gets in the way of your productivity? Are there small barriers that make your work harder? How do you deal with them? Share your tips I d love to learn from your experience!

How building a product changed you?

In my case, building my startup Selftalk - an app for self-therapy, transformed my character big time. 1. I became much more grounded, and connected to reality. 2. I discovered so many things about myself, good and bad, which significantly deepened my self-awareness. 3. I ve developed immense respect and compassion for fellow entrepreneurs, creators, and doers. It s easy to critique from the sidelines, but it s an entirely different experience to be in the arena, facing the challenges head-on.

Golden Kitty Awards - Best developer tools launched in 2024?

As we're approaching the long-awaited Golden Kitty Awards, I'm dropping here some of my favorite developer tools launched on Product Hunt in 2024:

  • @Supabase - The open-source Firebase alternative went GA last April and had a *stellar* launch: #1 Product of the Day, #1 Product of the Week, #1 Product of the Month!

  • @bolt.new - Last year, @v0 by Vercel was nominee, and I predict the alternative built by StackBlitz, #1 Product of the Day, #2 Product of the Week, and #9 Product of the Month, hit the list this year

  • @Langfuse 2.0 - The open-source LLM engineering platform, best AI Infra Product of the Year in 2023, had another amazing launch this year: #1 Product of the Day, #8 Product of the Week.

  • @Helicone AI - The open-source LLM observability platform had a great launch last August: #1 Product of the Day, #2 Product of the Week.

  • @Tempo - Discovered during the Mega Launch Week, this code-first Figma alternative kept momentum on Product Hunt last December: #1 Product of the Day, #3 Product of the Week.

I could possibly think of more developer tools that ranked really well: @Octomind (#1 Product of the Day), @Pullpo.io (#2 Product of the Day), @Inkeep (#3 Product of the Day), @Corbado (#4 Product of the Day), @MotherDuck (#5 Product of the Day)...
How about you? What are your predictions for this 2025 GKA edition?

Go global is a real challenge

Hello everyone, Over the past two years, Genlogin has quietly grown into a trusted platform for no-code automation. What we are most proud of is not just our technology but the fact that we ve helped more than 100,000 users in Vietnam from marketers and MMO enthusiasts to small business owners simplify their work through drag-and-drop automation scripts. Looking back, this journey has not been easy. Starting as a small team in Vietnam, we have spent countless hours improving our product, refining features, and, most importantly, listening to our users. Their feedback has been invaluable in shaping Genlogin into a tool that empowers productivity and security. But we know that our achievements so far are only the beginning. A Desire to Share Vietnam s Innovation with the World While we ve made significant progress locally, we humbly acknowledge that reaching a global audience will be a major challenge. Our first step in this journey is launching on Product Hunt on January 10th. This is an opportunity to introduce Genlogin to the global tech community and gain valuable feedback from a broader audience. We also plan to explore platforms like AppSumo, hoping to connect with businesses and individuals worldwide who are looking for advanced automation solutions. Your support on Product Hunt this January 10th can make a world of difference. By upvoting, leaving thoughtful comments, and sharing your feedback, you ll help us reach a wider audience and refine our product for a global stage. We re also eager to learn from those with experience in the international market. If you have insights on strategies, platforms, or partnerships that could guide a company like ours toward global success, we d be deeply grateful for your wisdom. Thank you for being part of our journey!

What changes would you welcome on Product Hunt?

If you could influence the direction and functioning of the Product Hunt: What would you implement and why? What do you see as the problem here and how would you solve it?

Stop Complicating Simple Work

Your elaborate productivity system is the problem, not the solution. Those color-coded Notion templates? That 5AM club routine? The 10 synchronized apps and pomodoro timers? They're just fancy ways to avoid real work. You don't need: An app to remind you to drink water 20 different ways to organize the same task A perfect streak of anything Another productivity podcast You need: A list of what matters To tackle the hardest thing first To keep going Our parents didn't need "second brains" or "productivity stacks." They had work to do, so they did it. Want to be productive? Close the tabs. Put your phone away. Stop reading about being productive. And just do the work. That's it. No subscription required. But sometimes, some of us don't work well with calendars, to-dos, trackers. Some of us will require a pair of eyes behind. I'm thinking lately on this. How Make everithing simplier and easier. Your thoughts?
