I've been seeing more and more tools popping up that let website visitors send voice notes or short videos instead of filling out cold text forms.

I'm genuinely curious about real-world results :

• Has anyone here tested voice/video widgets on their landing pages, apps, or sites?

• Did it meaningfully increase leads, form completions, reply rates, or conversions? Or did it backfire (e.g., people feel awkward recording themselves, bad audio/video quality, privacy concerns)?

• What use cases seem to work best? (B2B SaaS, e-commerce support, coaching/consulting, recruiting, customer interviews ?)

• UX-wise: do you make it optional or required? Does forcing voice/video feel pushy or creepy to some visitors?

• Any tech/privacy headaches? (GDPR consent, media storage, moderation of incoming videos, etc.)

When we launched Starnus our competitors were charging $100+/month. So we thought let's undercut them. Start at $20. Make it a no brainer.

Signups were great. Payments? Almost zero.

The modern sales stack is a mess.

Apollo, Lemlist, Clay, Phantombuster, Dropcontact, Smartlead, a CRM. That's 6-8 tools, $500-1k/month, and 20+ hours/week just to operate them.

Today, I read a TechCrunch article about what investors are no longer looking for in SaaS, or rather, what to avoid if you don't want to lose their interest.

The red flags were:

• Too easy to replicate light AI wrappers, generic horizontal tools, basic CRM clones, generic productivity or project management tools.

• No real depth products where differentiation is mostly UI and automation, anything without proprietary data, surface-level analytics.

• Becoming obsolete workflow automation tools that coordinate human work (agents are taking over), integrations as a moat (MCP is making connectors a commodity), and "workflow stickiness" products trying to keep humans inside their software.

Back when I was freelancing, AI felt like a distant dream. Now in 2026 it's everywhere... buttttt a lot of it still feels like shiny gimmick territory.

You ask for "SEO fixes" and get generic "add more keywords" fluff, or AI "suggestions" that miss the context of your actual stack/cache/CDN setup.

Traditional website forms drive me up the wall, and I know I'm not alone

I've been thinking about this a lot lately while building.

So many tools we use daily feel like they should be one product, but they're scattered across 5 different subscriptions.

I posted a random thread on X about the cost of living in the Netherlands. Nothing about what we're building. Just genuine thoughts about life in the Netherlands.

It hit 1M+ impressions. And here's the weird part we got a ton of signups and paid users for Starnus from it. Without ever mentioning the product.

Meanwhile, my "here's what Starnus does" posts? Way less engagement.

This genuinely messed with my head. I'm sharing the actual X post below

Here's a dead-simple checklist :

1. Swap stock photos for real team pics + short personal bios

2. Add video or voice snippets to testimonials (text-only quotes feel flat)

3. Ditch the form use a voice/video widget like Lissn so people can just speak

4. Reply to comments/DMs with your own voice notes or short videos when you can

5. Share raw behind-the-scenes (not just polished marketing) on social

Which one are you trying first?

I recently saw a marketer with 10k+ followers launch and finish 6th with 348 upvotes. They followed a proper pre-launch and post-launch plan, did everything right, and still the outcome felt unpredictable.
