Launching Today - Brisqi, a local-first Kanban app that helps you focus and stay in control

Hey Product Hunters,

I am excited to share Brisqi, a Kanban app I have been building with privacy, speed, and focus in mind. It works entirely on your computer, no cloud required, and keeps your tasks organized without distractions.

Some of the things people enjoy about Brisqi include:
Boards stay fast even with hundreds of cards
A clean, minimal design that helps you focus
Color-coded cards and labels for easy organization
See upcoming tasks and a full calendar view at a glance
Markdown support and internal links between cards
A focus mode to help you concentrate on what matters
Your data stays private unless you choose to sync

How can you promote your launch when the "Coming soon" page is not longer available?

Yesterday, @rohanrecommends noticed some changes on this Platform  the "Coming soon" page is gone.

There's no reason to panic because you have plenty of options to be visible, for example:

  • You can place the PH badge (button for support) on your landing page.

  • You can send a reminder email or push notification to your supporter.

  • You can set up a LinkedIn/Facebook virtual event where you insert the link for your launch.

  • You can use PH forums with relevant categories to make announcements if you have previously launched, for example, p/Google, allowing you to use the platform directly.

Apple considers collaboration with Google: Will Gemini AI save Siri?

Yes, we had this talk on Product Hunt countless times, about whether Apple is behind in AI.

Apple is in early talks with Google to potentially use Gemini AI to power a revamped version of Siri, as part of efforts to catch up in generative AI. They have been considering Anthropic s Claude and OpenAI s ChatGPT + testing their own models.

How are you using AI agents in your work or daily life?

I am curious to hear how people are using AI agents outside of programming. Are they helping you with personal tasks, productivity, research, or other areas? What tools or services are you using, or have you created your own? How have they impacted your day-to-day life? I would love to learn from your experiences and see the creative ways people are putting AI agents to work.

What’s the craziest thing a startup can do to get attention?

Yesterday I saw the headline that Perplexity tried to buy Google Chrome for $34.5B. One move and they got free coverage in BBC, NYT, Business Insider, and basically every major tech outlet.

That s tens of millions in equivalent PR value without spending it. Just create a news story with a slightly absurd twist and boom, you re front-page material.

How we raised Β£250k before launch (UK-focused, step-by-step, with some hacks)

We just hit:

600+ people on the Meet-Ting waitlist

275+ invites sent

50+ meetings booked

Which platform do you consider trustworthy when reading product reviews?

Whenever I m about to buy something (especially something more expensive), I can be easily influenced by recommendations from people I trust and know. That might be well-known accounts on X or suggestions from friends.

Or, I go and read the reviews.

Introducing Ambassadors: For Makers, By Makers

When I first launched on Product Hunt, I had no idea what to expect. I wasn t sure anyone would notice our little startup, and honestly, I felt intimidated. Everyone seemed so established, and I didn t know where I fit in.

But then something incredible happened. A kind comment from @aaronoleary. Encouragement from the PH community. Support from the Product Hunt team when we ran into issues. A hunt from @benln. A thoughtful reply from @rajiv_ayyangar himself.

  • That first launch became Product of the Day.

  • We were later nominated for Product of the Year.

  • In 2023, I was named Community Member of the Year.

  • And now in 2025, I ve been invited to serve as a Product Hunt Ambassador!

Should you offer free access when launching a paid product on Product Hunt?

I'm seeing more products launch on Product Hunt that require payment to actually use any features. No free trial, no freemium tier, just a download that leads straight to a paywall.

Part of me thinks this makes sense. If your product has real value, why give it away? People on Product Hunt understand they're looking at premium tools. Plus offering free access can attract users who will never pay anyway.

But I also see the argument for temporary free access during launch. Product Hunt users want to actually try what they're upvoting. How can they give meaningful feedback or become advocates if they hit a paywall immediately?

I launched solo β€” and made it to the Top 5 today πŸš€

Hey Product Hunt!
This morning I launched my first solo product ever: Controol a minimalist finance app built around one idea:

Know how much you can spend, not just what you already did.

No team. No paid ads. No launch list. Just late nights and building something I personally needed.
I honestly didn t expect much but hours later, it made it to the Top 5 of the day

The feeling? Wild.
Strangers are connecting with the mindset behind it, and it's been amazing to read their comments.

Are developers losing the race to no-code/vibe-coding?

I'm a developer. And as a developer, I probably have a huge disadvantage: I see every product with an overly critical, perfectionist mindset. Meanwhile, no-code and AI tools are making it easier than ever to build software without technical skills. But here's the paradox: this shift favors non-technical makers over developers. Why? Because they don t care (or even think) about: that slow query that might crash under load; that pixel-perfect UI; that memory-hungry process; tha non-DRY code; that perfect payment integration; Etc... I know what you're thinking: "Dude, just build an MVP and launch fast." But that's not my point. Even if I try to move fast, as a developer, it's hard to unsee the flaws. So here's my real question: Are we in an era where people with fewer technical skills are actually at an advantage? To me, it definitely feels like an advantage for non-technical makers.

How to increase your chances of being featured on a Product Hunt?

Following on from what @gabe posted on the forum (I decide what's featured on the leaderboard - AMA w/ Gabe from Product Hunt) you can be more "clear" why you didn't make it to the featured leaderboard.

From the points presented in the discussion, several conclusions and perhaps even advice emerged, which can increase your chances of getting to the featured section.

Personally, I would summarize it as follows.

The hidden risks of Vibe coding/AI-assisted coding no one talks about

AI-assisted coding or Vibe Coding has been trending, just prompt the AI, and it writes your code. If a bug appears, tell AI to fix it. It s great for non-technical founders, indie devs, and small teams to build quick MVPs and simple apps as it allows them to test their ideas with minimal development effort.

In tech and startup community circles like HN, Product Hunt etc., there s often a sample bias, where everyone is in the startup space, using AI tools or building AI agents. However, in critical sectors like banking, healthcare, and government, enterprises can't risk third-party AI access to their code due to security, compliance, and maintainability concerns.

  • First, AI-assisted coding raises serious intellectual property concerns. Enterprise companies are highly protective of their proprietary codebases, and sharing any part of it with an external AI service is simply not an option.

  • Second, AI frequently produces bug-ridden code that requires constant oversight from experienced developers. Subtle logic bugs, poor optimization, and architectural inconsistencies can compound issues over time.

  • Third, AI can introduce significant security risks by inheriting poor security practices from public codebases. While this might be fine for weekend projects, in enterprise settings, it can lead to unacceptable vulnerabilities and risks.

  • Fourth, unchecked AI use in coding leads to major technical debt. Relying on AI-generated code without fully understanding it makes debugging harder. Over time, this creates a messy, unmanageable codebase that struggles to scale and perform well.

Help me quit Chrome

I've been using @Google Chrome for years and honestly never thought much about changing. It just always seemed like the best and easiest option. Lately though, I've been feeling like maybe I'm missing out. Chrome doesn't feel like the no-brainer pick anymore, and I'm seeing more and more interesting browsers out there.

Currently, @Horse is my top pick. This is the one I'm most interested in trying out, but it also seems like a pretty different approach. I don't necessarily want my productivity to dip, but that may just be inevitable whenever switching.
