How to increase your chances of being featured on a Product Hunt?

Following on from what posted on the forum () you can be more "clear" why you didn't make it to the featured leaderboard.

From the points presented in the discussion, several conclusions and perhaps even advice emerged, which can increase your chances of getting to the featured section.

Personally, I would summarize it as follows.

  • Launch it first on social media in public and collect feedback to help you fix the product's shortcomings. In this case, it could be X, Reddit, Discord or Slack groups. (Very committed people can get inspired and create a community for this purpose.)

  • Check if someone has posted something like this before you and find parallels (you can compare similar products in a given category that were/were not featured and look for aspects that made it so, or fill in the gaps and increase your chances of being featured).

  • Get involved on the platform a little, and let the core community and possibly the PH team itself see you a little (just don't look like a shady guy).

  • Properly completed profile – profile photo, bio information and functional social networks.

  • Add as much information as possible about the product and its functioning (demo videos, loom videos, photos of high quality).

  • Participate in initiatives by the Product Hunt team. (E.g. did something like or sometimes posts on his "advising rounds" – e.g. "Write your tagline and I will give you one tip on how to improve it.")

If anyone has a piece of additional advice, feel free to share it.
