What should a modern food scanner tell you in 5 seconds?

Food apps often make users dig.

SnackPro is trying to do the opposite.

One scan should quickly answer:

  • Can I eat this with my allergies?

  • Is it high in sugar or sodium?

  • How many calories?

  • Is it ultra-processed?

  • Does it fit my dietary rules?

  • Is it pregnancy-friendly?

  • Could it work for the way I m trying to eat?

Should calorie tracking be built into a broader food safety scan?

We re adding calorie tracking to SnackPro.

But we don t want it to be just another calorie counter.

When someone scans food, they may care about calories, but also allergens, high sugar, sodium, saturated fat, pregnancy-risk foods, GMO concerns, ultra-processed ingredients, or whether it fits vegan, kosher, or halal needs.

Real food decisions are not one-dimensional.

What’s still missing from nutrition tracking apps today?

Most nutrition apps are very good at calories, macros, and logging.

But food decisions are getting more personal.

People want to understand calories, sugar, sodium, saturated fat, allergens, pregnancy-risk foods, ultra-processed ingredients, GMO concerns, and dietary fit like vegan, kosher, halal.

We re also looking at newer needs, like helping people identify foods that may better fit GLP-1 eating habits, for example higher protein, lower sugar, less ultra-processed, and easier to portion.
