What should an AI phone agent always disclose before acting on your behalf?

I keep coming back to the same question with AI phone and operations agents: what should be disclosed before the agent is allowed to do anything that affects another person or system?

I do work in this area, so I am biased toward over-communicating. My current instinct is that the minimum should be explicit identity, whether the conversation is being recorded or summarized, what actions the agent is allowed to take, when a human can step in, and some kind of receipt after the fact if it changed a booking, sent a message, or updated a record.

Most products lose people in the first 60 seconds — here's where

Most products lose people in the first 60 seconds, here's where

I'm a UX designer who lives in the first run of products, the moment right after signup, where most activation is won or lost. Four leaks I see over and over, with cheap fixes:

  • Show value before the wall, don't ask for trust (signup, permissions) before showing anything.

  • Treat the empty state as a first impression, zeros and blank charts read as "broken," not "new."

  • Ask for heavy permissions when they're needed, not all up front.

  • Don't let the paywall and the payoff land at the same moment.

For those who've launched: where do people actually drop off in your first session?

Which AI tools have become so essential that you can’t imagine your work without them?

I think AI has been around long enough for us to identify which tools have changed the way we work.

There are more and more of them every day, and sometimes it feels like it s getting harder to keep track of them all.
