Slack is useful because it keeps team communication fast without turning every small update into a meeting.

I use it for project discussions, async updates, quick decisions, file sharing, and keeping different workstreams separated by channels. Threads are especially helpful when the team uses them properly. It works best when the workspace has clear channels and people are disciplined about notifications. Otherwise, it can get noisy quickly.
