XWiki stands out as a powerful and flexible knowledge management solution, combining structured data, fine-grained permissions, real-time collaboration, multi-wiki capabilities, and a rich macro system. It is highly extensible, with 900+ extensions and deep customization options. So the tool adapts to your needs rather than forcing you to adapt to the tool.
Being open source and made in Europe is another major advantage. XWiki offers transparency, independence, and freedom of choice, with the option to run it in the cloud or on-premises and without vendor lock-in.
XWiki is also building strong links with the open-source ecosystem, making it easier to connect with complementary tools and build a powerful, open stack.
Waited for a long time for XWiki to launch their MCP server, very excited for the new possibilities this offers us. Congrats to the team!
Thank you, @amilica !! Glad to have it finally launched!!
@amilica Thanks for all the nice visuals that complement and highlight the MCP server!
@lorina_balan the pleasure is mine! ❤️❤️
Great job guys, I know how hard you've worked on it! Congrats on the release!
@dariaaaaa Thanks for your support!
@dariaaaaa Thank you Dariaaa!!! 😋
I've seen the passion and dedication @gabriel_cio has when he puts his mind on something and working on this project has been a blast. Very excited to see where XWiki will go with AI agents! Many congrats and keep on rolling!
Aww! Thank you for the kind words, @mad94!!! I'm also really excited to see where XWiki will go with AI agents 👀👀👀.
Exciting to see this come to life! Congrats to the whole team on this great achievement!
@alexandra_moraru_popovici Thanks for the support!
Letting my agent edit wiki pages instead of just reading them is the shift that makes a knowledge base worth keeping current, and self hosting means the internal docs never leave the building.
@karimbenkeroum Yep, exactly. And the XWiki MCP server lets you do exactly that. After you enable write tools, you can ask an agent to do any kind of maintenance task you can think of, such as searching for duplicate pages, or updating documentation based on code changes.
Also, along with self-hosting XWiki, you can also use slef-hosted AI models. This ensures that sensitive data never leaves your control.
Really excited to see this launch!
The possibilities of connecting AI agents to all the knowledge stored in XWiki are pretty exciting. And keeping it open source, optional and self-hostable makes it even better. Can't wait to see what people build with it!
Thanks, xwiki_dan !! I'm really excited to see what kind of workflows people build too!
Congrats on the launch! Open-source, self-hostable, and agent-agnostic is a great combination for teams that want AI on their knowledge base without giving up control.
@alexandru_farcasi indeed! Thanks for the vote and support!
