Hey Product Hunters! Raymond here, and I'm stoked to introduce you to Wisp - the CMS that's about to make your adding a blog to your website a whole lot easier! Why did I build Wisp? πŸ› οΈ As a dad of two juggling multiple websites, I felt the pain of clunky CMSs and tech headaches. I wanted something that could grow with me without the constant upgrade nightmares. That's when Wisp was born - a lightweight, delightful CMS that empowers you to focus on what really matters: connecting with your audience. How does it work? πŸš€ Set up in less than a day | Integrate with any framework πŸ“ Distraction-free writing | First-class editorial experience πŸ”§ All batteries included | Pagination, tagging, related articles out of the box 🌐 Global content delivery | Lightning-fast edge API and CDN Ready to experience the magic? ✨ Don't just take my word for it - give our editor a spin! I've made it as delightful as possible, taking inspiration from favorites like Notion and Medium. Try out the drag-and-drop image upload, play with our powerful slash commands, and see how effortless content creation can be: πŸ‘‰ https://www.wisp.blog/try-editor Get started with a template! πŸ—ž If you would like to get started with a brand new blog, check out this minimalist blog template in Nextjs 14. You can get hook up wisp, host your site on vercel and have a live blog in 20 min or less! πŸ‘‰ https://github.com/Wisp-CMS/next... What's next? We're cooking up some exciting features like contextual CTAs to supercharge your content marketing game. And trust me, there's more magic in the pipeline! Want to take Wisp for a spin? Every account starts with a generous free plan because I believe in letting you experience the full magic before making a decision. Let's make the digital world a little more human, one blog post at a time! πŸš€ P.S. Wisp is proudly bootstrapped and made with love (and lots of late-night coding sessions). If you're a fellow parent, indie hacker, or just someone who believes in the power of great content, I'd love to connect!
@raymond_yeh Congrats on your incredible launch! Wishing you an amazing journey forward. What’s been the most valuable lesson learned during this process?

Thanks @a_zelenkov. I get the most joy from seeing my customers, mostly founders, succeed. I just want to get the annoying things out of the way so that they can focus on what's the most important things for them.

Hey @raymond_yeh great work, building a full cms is a challenge πŸ‘πŸ» I'm a big fan of headless cms systems. Which database systems does Wisp CMS support? Congratulations on the launch πŸš€.
Raymond Yeh
@crebuh Thanks for the kind words. We are a hosted solution so you don't have to worry about bringing your database or pay for additional hosting. But if you are curious we use Postgres on the backend with support for embeddings (we have some cool AI features launched like related blog posts and contextual call-to-actions, with more lined up)

Congratulations on launching Wisp! πŸŽ‰ It’s inspiring to see how you’ve turned your personal challenges as a busy dad and website manager into a solution that can benefit so many others. The focus on simplicity, speed, and a seamless editorial experience really sets Wisp apart. I’m curious, what was the biggest challenge you faced while developing Wisp, and how did you overcome it?
Raymond Yeh
Thanks @andreea_staicu for the kind words! The hardest part was actually to continue building and showing up day to day. It helps after we had our first few customers (free and paying). They are the people I show up for day after day now!

This sounds promising, @raymond_yeh! The distraction-free editor really stands out. Can you elaborate on how Wisp integrates with existing frameworks? Also, what specific features are you planning for those upcoming CTAs? Excited to see where this goes!
Raymond Yeh
Thanks @kevinyaoooooo! We expose our content API directly so any framework can use it. On top of that we provide our JS SDK so for users using React (or nextjs, nuxtjs, vite, etx) can use the package directly. In addition, we found lots of users choosing to fork and modify our blog template directly to launch their blogs: https://github.com/Wisp-CMS/next... Some additional ideas in our pipeline: - React hooks for loading blog post on client side - Sample blog component libraries (ie pagination, blog listing, blog detail page, etc) For the CTAs, we have it on beta right now and you can see how different articles get mapped to different CTA already. I'll gladly upvote this. Check out the site and also love your featured image generator too. My question: With blogs seemingly "dying" all eyes on social media, what's the idea behind launching a CMS?
Raymond Yeh
Thanks for checking out the featured image generator @illohifeoma. It was solving my own problem when I'm just missing some creative juice and need some help picking an image for my posts. The original idea came about when I was trying to update a post on my personal blog https://geek.sg/ and it cant be done because I was using an old version of gatsby and Netlify (what I use to host) no longer support the old node version for build anymore. So I cant even add new post to my blog! The last straw was trying to add a blog to another of my product and I thought "IT HAS TO BE A BETTER WAY". The rest is history...
Eric
Congrats on launching Wisp, Raymond! As someone who juggles multiple projects, the drag-and-drop image upload and slash commands are seriously appealing. The distraction-free writing environment is definitely a plus. @raymond_yeh
