WhatsNew.co

Not a social media. Just product updates and sneak peeks.

As we already know, Twitter and other social media are a chaotic place to follow and read updates from products we love. So I built this site where all you can do is follow products and read updates from them. No Follower counts nor any comments.

Very interesting idea! How long has it works already? It seems to me that you should consider categories for the published products & definitely more explanation which products can or cannot be published. A lot of work ahead. Anyway, my sincere congratulations on the launch today and good luck!

@yaroslava Thank you Yaroslava πŸ˜‡ yes, need to figure out how to categorize products. Right now I'm not planning to restricting any products other than NSFW. What I'm still struggling is with the terminology used in the website "Product". It could mean anything but I'm looking to onboard products which usually has Changelog page or announcements page. Thought about "SaaS" but it might be too limiting. One of goal with this launch is to figure out the messaging/positioning of WhatsNew.co and see how I can improve so yes, lot of work ahead :D

@onerinas as for the goal here. Yeah, you can have some ideas after considering what products are actually published. But let's help people a little. - You may start a discussion in this thread, on PH, on social media, etc. - "SaaS" is too limited, I agree, but it's a good category you should consider. At the moment you may add in description every category you'd like to have (SaaS, products which usually have changelog or announcement page...). The more people understand what your product is for, the easier for them it will be to engage. Anyway, it worth remembering that people may start using your product in more unexpected ways:-)

@yaroslava β€œ The more people understand what your product is for, the easier for them it will be to engage.” Very true!

πŸ‘‹ Hey fellow makers and product enthusiasts, how is it going? I'm someone who is not on too many social media (especially not on anything Facebook 😁). So the way I catch up with product updates and announcements is either by following their Twitter pages or signup for Newsletters. 🀯 It works for me to some great extent but always felt like little bit chaotic. πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» So I took the chance (or should I say my developer instinct kicked in πŸ˜„) and built a platform where we can follow products we love and stay up to date with product updates and sneak peeks from them. πŸ’Œ If you are a product owner, maker, entrepreneur, or a company, I would like to invite you to create a page for your product in WhatsNew.co.

Hi! Congrats on your launch. I have tried it out and it looks simple and handy. Great work! Are you going to have integrations with Google/Facebook/etc, so the users could sign in quickly? That would help you to get more users.
rinas πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»
Glad you liked it Anastasiia 🀩❀️ @anastasiia_holiachenko How about a magic link sign-in? Trying not to add not too many 3rd party integrations where we have to share data. I might consider Twitter and/or Google but definitely not Facebook πŸ˜…
Anastasiia Holiachenko πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦
@onerinas Yep, I think that's a good idea!
rinas πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»
@anastasiia_holiachenko Login via email link is now live on the website 😎 Thank you very much for the suggestion πŸ™

@onerinas You are amazing!
rinas πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»
@anastasiia_holiachenko thanks a ton for the feedback. I always preferred login with email in other services but didn't go with that since it needed custom work and doesn't come out of the box with the library I'm using. Your comment pushed to work on it, so thanks to you :)

Going the minimal way! Will test this out. All the best to the team.
rinas πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»
@kapilgadhire Thank you Kapil 🀩 Btw, there is no team, It’s just me πŸ˜„

Very clean minimalist UI. Posting process was very easy. A little issue with the signup, but I think it was my browser auto completing. πŸ‘Great job!
rinas πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»
@solomon_bush Glad to have you on board 🀩 Let me try a new singup, thanks for the heads up 😊 Btw, you can host the page in your own domain/subdomain and it would work as a changelog page for your product. Can be done in the pahe settings

@onerinas Oh that's a really cool feature. Is there an API for it so that I can integrate it into CI pipelines?
Solomon Bush
@onerinas Oh! One more thing, the confirmation email after I signed up went to my spam folder. I am using gmail.
rinas πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»
@solomon_bush one more person mentioned about this! thanks for the heads up Solomon, I really appreciate it :)
rinas πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»
@solomon_bush what API are you looking for? I'm guessing an API endpoint to add a new post would be handy?
Anthony Lee
Clean simple, and does what you need it to.
