AI therapy is promising but how do you address privacy and data security?
@lucas_parsons Very good question. We don't store any private user conversation data ourselves: each users personal data is stored securely on their own device, and only processed ephemerally by our algorithms after being encrypted in transit.
AI can be incredibly beneficial but how do you ensure it doesn’t misinterpret serious mental health crises?
@logan_king The app uses additional algorithms on top of the LLM models to detect whether a user is in a mental health crisis. We've done extensive testing on these (it was interesting work to come up with a good spectrum of test cases and find thresholds that minimized false negative detections while not creating poor user-experience due to high false positive rates).
When a crisis is detected, users are directed to a list of appropriate resources on our website, such as international lists of various crisis hotlines.
Mental wellness should be accessible to everyone. What kind of real world impact or success stories have you observed from early users of Wellness AI?
@tabbunuru Feedback from both test users and new downloads on the app store has been extremely positive. E.g., one user who's going through a divorce has written in detail how much both the conversations and meditations have helped them throughout the process.
