The main improvement area is production debugging and reliability. Voice AI has a lot of moving parts: latency, STT quality, TTS behavior, provider failures, prompt issues, interruptions, and call-state edge cases. When something feels off, it is not always obvious which layer caused the issue.
I’d like better debugging tools around failed calls, latency breakdowns, provider fallback, transcript quality, and assistant decision traces. Vapi is very useful, but production voice AI still needs strong observability.
