Unveil is a dating app where profile pictures are initially blurred and gradually reveals as the conversation continues. To make things more interesting, our users are only allowed to communicate with one another through voice messages. This creates an environment where people can be authentic and make genuine connections.
I truly believe no app has yet to crack mobile dating, so I'm always excited to see fresh approaches. To me, the "blind" element isn't as fascinating as the voice messages. I'm curious to see how comfortable people are sharing their voice with strangers, as it's quite a revealing part of who we are. Interestingly, the memos also align with the growing voice trend with Alexa, Siri, etc. so it feels timely. Fingers crossed...
We agree @kleinkleinklein! While the “unveiling” is a cool feature within our app, the core of our app is the voice messages. So far we've found that people are comfortable sharing their voice with strangers. This could be due to the fact that their profile pictures are blurred so there is a greater sense of anonymity and allowing them to feel less vulnerable.
Personally think this concept stands out among the other typical dating app out there. Love that it's different in the sense that looks are not the main defining factor for engaging a conversation with someone and I think it's a pity that most dating apps emphasize on looks.
Diverging from the typical text-based conversation is a great way to try something new and voice messages offers that sense of intimacy a lot of dating sites seem to lack. Best of luck to Unveil!
@rrhoover Not anymore. Shutting down, according to a push notification I just got. Flawed model IMO in that it let you swipe superficially, then forced you to have a blurry video chat once you connected. Naw... close but not quite right.
