UMA uses the Bitcoin Lightning Network for fast, low-cost, and efficient payments. Like SMTP, UMA enables a user experience that allows people to reliably send and receive money 24/7 in the currency they choose.
@chrismessina@gregjwww Obviously bitcoin uses cryptographic primitives, but the distinction comes due to the fact that bitcoin was the first to emerge, has been proven for 15 years and its the most decentralized (controlled by no single entity) due to its staggeringly powerful compute network. Think of it as the biggest bug bounty which hasn't been cracked. Just about all other crypto projects since are fraudulent but sometimes serve as a breeding ground of new inventions.

Congratulations on the launch!
Sounds crazy and cool, but do you have a vision how to promote it and make a payment standard?
Congratulations Team Universal Money Address on your Producthunt launch! It's exciting to see such innovation in the cryptocurrency space. As a suggestion, it could be interesting if UMA offered some kind of incentive or rewards system for frequent users. That would make an already useful tool even more attractive. Keep shining!

Products like this with human-readable addresses abstract away the protocol complexities. Just as most users didn't care about TCP/IP or SMTP, a wave of useful (built-on-bitcoin) products are emerging but should come to market highlighting the bitcoin/LN protocol. As @chrismessina says "DNS for money addresses", or "just like email, but for money".
