Unfiled is a native Mac text workbench for developers who constantly juggle scratch notes, logs, JSON, configs, tokens, stack traces, and temporary files. Tabs persist across restarts, and Unfiled recognizes what you open or paste, shows the right preview when useful, and brings the relevant actions to the document, from formatting and validation to structured views, compare, regex, logs, and more. All without turning into a full IDE.

I built Unfiled because I kept jumping between different tools for small developer tasks: online validators, JSON formatters, regex testers, diff tools, log viewers, scratch notes, and temporary text I didn’t want to save yet.
I wanted one native, fast, focused place where tabs persist across restarts, and where the app understands what you open or paste. Unfiled recognizes developer text, shows the right preview when useful, and brings the relevant actions to the document without forcing you to bounce between a bunch of separate tools.
It includes structured previews, logs and stack traces, Markdown and Mermaid, compare and diff, validation, regex, live follow, multiple cursors, and more.
Most of Unfiled is free, and Pro is a one time purchase with no subscription.
This is the first public launch, so I’d really value honest feedback from Mac developers.
