Keith Peiris
👋 Hi everyone! I’m Keith, cofounder at Tome. Our storytelling app was hunted while we were in beta 7 months ago. We’ve made some major updates since (more on that ⬇️) and launched to general access last month. Given the great response, we’re excited to share Tome 1.0 with more people and drop our first iOS app today. 🎉 Social storytelling on mobile has evolved quite a bit during the past 10 years - think TikTok and IG vs. AIM and MySpace. Weirdly enough, storytelling for big ideas and work hasn't really come along at all. Two years ago, my cofounder Henri and I started to convince ourselves that a great format for big ideas could be valuable in the workplace & the public town square. One connected to the internet, designed for mobile, & focused on the message. That’s why our mission at Tome is to help anyone tell a compelling story: if more people are capable of sharing compelling stories, we believe we get one step closer to a society that acts on its best ideas. In beta, we listened to you - you wanted more customization and branding. So, we built a more powerful text editor and added features like themes and layouts. Then, we were blown away at general access. Signups 10X’d in our first week, and Tome has been used by: - product builders and designers for reviews, strategy plans, and customer education - sales reps and recruiters for closing a client - founders for fundraising and telling their brand story - nonprofits and thought leaders for sharing complex ideas We keep hearing that Tome helps people share more polished, persuasive stories, without the wasted time and frustration that come with slides tools. Now we think Tome is ready for you. And, we’re stoked to share our iOS app, which makes creating, editing, and sharing tomes on your smartphone seamless (for those last touches in your Uber to the meeting 😅). We have a lot to build, and really appreciate your feedback. It’s free to create your workspace at tome.app and there’s no trial period, so we hope you try us out. 🙂 We’re here for your q’s / thoughts, so drop us a line :) ⬇️

@keithpeiris Hi all! I’m Henri, the other cofounder at Tome. 😄 Today’s iOS announcement + the launch of Tome 1.0 is a big moment for us. Over the past 7 months, the feedback from Tome’s community of founders, product managers, designers and creators pushed us to ship: - New, more robust text editor with more font styles and alignment options - Custom themes, so your tomes represent you / your team - Pre-made layouts, to build the page you want faster - Improved performance, so creating in Tome feels snappy and responsive And today’s update: you can now create and edit tomes in our iOS app. This is helpful if you want to capture a moment of inspiration on-the-go, or make a last minute edit. You can also: - Record video narration on top of your content - Rearrange content to shape your story - Add + respond to comments from your team - Share your tomes with a few taps Try out our newly released iOS app here: http://tome.app/ios Coming soon: more layout flexibility, branding (logos and dynamic bg color support), typeface options, and more embed tiles with your favorite tools like CodePen. We hope Tome feels magical. And we hope what we’ve built helps you share what you mean, more like you'd imagined it. 💭 Let us know what you think!

@keithpeiris Congrats on the launch 🚀

@keithpeiris @henri_liriani1 I am SUPER excited about more embed tiles...is there anything else in the works? I'd love a Google sheets integration, for example.
Henri Liriani
@keithpeiris @mhsmith Yes! We’re working bringing a lot more of the services you use to tiles in Tome in the near future. We’re prioritizing tiles that display media (e.g. YouTube) and tiles that display your work from elsewhere like Google sheets or docs. If you’d like to see any other specific tiles, please share!
Matt Halsey
@keithpeiris @henri_liriani1 love hearing this. YouTube is a great tile to have. And would love to have Google Sheets and Docs as well.

Sleek, beautiful, and compelling. It's about time for corporate storytelling to join the 21st century where format isn't optimized for being printed out.
Kian Kolahdouzan
@alexander_vladimirov thank you for the support! Hope to stumble upon your tomes out in the wild soon :)

So excited for this! The iOS app is such a game-changer for fine-tuning my Tomes on the go and getting to iterate upon my designs. Can't wait to see where the product goes!
Kian Kolahdouzan
@alex_jones32 we're excited too!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and keep them coming 🙏
Matt Halsey
@alex_jones32 +1 - so many moments where you need to make a last minute tweak and it's such a mess to do so in most presentation tools.

Congrats with the launch! I'm a startup founder and Tome changed the way how I pitch. On most networking events Google slides are just useless because you can't literally do nothing from the phone. This is where Tome steps in. Easy flow, easy creation and easy pitches powered by Tome. More to improve here but happy to be an early user. Good luck!
Henri Liriani
@ihorbauman2 That's really exciting to hear! Thanks for giving us a try and coming along for the journey. Also, we'd love to hear how we can improve for how you're using us!
Matthew Smith
@ihorbauman2 @henri_liriani1 +1, this is amazing to hear and we're so glad Tome is adding value for you. If you have any feature requests or feedback on how we can strengthen Tome, please let us know!
Landon Reed
Really intuitive and easy-to-use!
Kian Kolahdouzan
@eltiar thanks so much for the kind words 🙏
Matt Halsey
This is looking suuuuppppeeerrrr sleek. Congrats to the team, it's about time the presentation space got a jolt of new thinking.
Kian Kolahdouzan
@mhsmith wow, thanks Matthew! We're so excited about this launch and stoked to have you onboard 🎉

Slide presentations are the one area of office productivity that remains stuck in the 90s. But this isn't just a "faster horse" (a shinier, more online version of presentation slides) but about expanding what presenting ideas and communicating stories can be with the tools and resources we have now. Tome manages to present a new canvas for our ideas that can also be built with the ease of use and intuitiveness of the best tools we remember, getting out of its own way and making it easy to do great and very hard to do badly. The iOS app expands upon that, reformatting the content to work on a cellphone screen and allowing for easy content entry on the fly as well.
Kevin Lau
@mylittlemetroid couldn’t agree more. Tome was originally designed to be a powerful aid that does not get in your way, and the same definitely applies to the iOS app too!
