Review Tome?
Reviewers mostly praise Tome for making polished presentations fast, with an intuitive workflow, strong AI-generated starting points, responsive mobile sharing, and useful embeds like Figma for mockups, updates, investor memos, all-hands decks, and even school projects. Many say its constraints help them focus on the story instead of formatting. Still, a small but detailed set of reviews sharply disagrees, calling the tool inflexible and not intuitive enough, with weak layout control, awkward formatting, missing PDF download, and slow or absent support.

I hate when tools come in the way of producing an artifact. I don't want to know how many bullets I can fit on a screen without reducing the font size, or if I accidentally changed the aspect ratio of an image I imported in my presentation. Fonts do not scale down, Images NEVER go out of aspect ratio and I don't have to create and tinker with text boxes all over the place with Tome. Game changer.
I do want diagraming and animations though.
For work, I've been using Tome for creating engineering focused presentations. Its been easy to integrate storytelling elements with code and demos. A handy GIF for the presentation is so easy to use in Tome (MUCH better than GSlides or Powerpoint)!
I've also been using Tome for personal use of sharing photos and videos with friends and family, instead of posting on social media

I've been using Tome to teach some middle schoolers React programming. The embeds and composability of the tiles make it easy to convey the ideas I want to show without spending a lot of effort.
I had trouble with a projector in the classroom and it was easy enough to get the kids to load the tome in their chrome books and follow along manually.
I paid for the annual subscription only to be able to download the document. And there is no way to do it. Reached out to customer support and never heard back... been 3 days.
Usage wise, it has nothing better than Keynote or Powerpoint for that matter. AI for writing can be just as easily accomplished with Chat GPT. The layouts are inflexible, fonts are difficult to manage or change sizes for specific styles, and formatting is a nightmare.
I came to tome because it was recommended by our company's investor. Came with very high excitement, but failed to even barely meet expectations. I am a founder and CEO and if my product performed like Tome, I would be ashamed to put it in front of my customers.
Finally, some innovation in the storytelling and presentation space! I've always wasted an insane amount of time design tinkering while building presentations and Tome's really well-designed, minimalistic interface lets me focus on making my points effectively and quickly. Current integrations (Figma, Airtable, Framer) are a great start, but very excited about this "app store" expanding further so I can stop taking screenshots. Responsive design = my content looks great on mobile. Final products look polished & sleek and can see myself using this to replace dated pdf one-sheeters and even microsites / landing pages.

Presentation slides is the one remaining productivity tool that seems stuck in the 90s. Even more recent solutions seem to just attempt to replicate the old slide experience without much to add to it beyond cloud storage and maybe some comment features.
Tome takes far better advantage of an online, all digital canvas to expand the possibilities of what you can express and how well. It also does a great job of getting the formatting minutiae out of the way so you can focus on the ideas you want to communicate.
pros
- modern layout and user flow
- smart content awareness and generation
- quick generation outline with picture
cons
- lack of slide layout option and picture variety
- lack of concise bullet
- too many words
overall a great product that i will use and did refer to colleagues.

As a designer, it's very easy for me to fall into the trap of perfecting the artifact vs. crafting my story. With Tome, the system of constraints and automated layout decisions make it super easy to pull my ideas together, and without any loss in quality.
I tried using your solution I am negatively surprised by how dysfunctional it is. For any early stage startup this could be in line with expectations but you guys got an extraordinary praise and amount of funding, from some of the most well known entrepreneurs & investors. spent an hour trying it out. made a document. besides pretty and clean design there is really nothing that makes it great. It's not even good...it is inflexible. not intuitive. can't download the pdf. can't change the name of the link that I am sharing. can't be scrolled through when shared.as a user who was really excited about the loud promotion of this - I am baffled. what was it that you showed to the investors to get all that money?
Tome is an incredibly powerful storytelling format, that's incredibly easy to use. Tome makes it possible to quickly combine live content from the web with interactive elements like 3D prototypes and embeds of tools like Figma in one place, so you can leverage whatever best shapes your narrative. I love that when I use Tome I know what I create will look polished, extremely well-designed, and ready to share. Game-changing.

I use Tome to share my work. It's great for presenting mockups, prototypes, product thinking, feature reviews…the list goes on. If you're visually communicating with a team or client, then Tome is the way to go. It's simple and fast and creates good looking, consistent results that make you look more put together than you might actually be. Looking forward to the future of this product.

Tome makes is super easy to make something that looks great, with minimal effort. Design-wise, the product is very well thought out, with enough flexibility and features to create something really powerful, but some guardrails that ensure things always look great.
I can't think of another tool has this level of ease to generate fantastic results.

I absolutely love Tome. I remember the first day I tried it, I didn't even have a topic in mind, I just typed in what it was about and I had an entire presentation in seconds. But what really got me was the images , they related to whichever slide they were on. Like I have never made an easier presentation in my life ! You guys rock !
