Hey Product Hunt 👋,
I'm Prince, and I built Timecard.
It started with a simple question I kept failing to answer at the end of the day: where did today actually go? My Mac knows, but Screen Time is buried in System Settings and forgets everything after a few weeks. So I built the app I wanted.
Timecard tracks every app and website you use. That means github.com and youtube.com, not just "Chrome", and it only ever reads the domain, never the page. Every evening it prints your day out of the notch as a little timecard: when you punched in and out, your top apps, how much deep work you got done, and how much of it was really YouTube. You tear it off and it's filed. Everything stays in one small file on your Mac, forever. No account, no analytics, nothing sent anywhere.
It's $5 one-time for the first 1,000 people, then the price goes up. No subscription, and updates are included.
I'm building this in public and shipping fixes almost every day, so honest feedback means a lot. What would make you actually look at it every evening? And I'm curious: what's the app that would embarrass you most on your card?
really clean UI, love it! will defo use, humans are notorious for not being able to accurately recollect where there time went, so I imagine this will be extremely useful for lots of people - are there any edge cases/things that slip through the tracker?
@samsmallmind Thanks Sam, glad you like it! A few blind spots right now:
Only the app in focus counts, so a video playing on a second screen while you code isn't tracked.
After 3 minutes with no input, time counts as Away. Playing video still counts as watching.
Website tracking works in Safari and Chromium browsers, but not Firefox yet.
It's Mac only. Your iPhone isn't included.
