A free, open-source Mac app for talking-head videos. A teleprompter that follows your voice, one-button recording of camera and screen, and every take in plain folders. Claude Code, on your own Claude plan, cuts the edit, makes the vertical version and drafts the posts. Leave notes on the frame; it turns them into rules and remembers them.

Happy launch day! Congrats on Takes for Mac. Nice to be launching alongside you today. We're launching Benson too: https://www.producthunt.com/products/benson-2. Would appreciate a comment or some support if you've got time. Hope the day goes well!
@dougsilkstone1 For sure!
interesting product
@madalina_barbu Thank you so much Madalina! Would love to get your feedback if you happen to give it a try! It's been honestly a lot of fun building and working with it for me
320 notes into 88 rules is the most useful number on this page. The thing I'd watch is rule 89 contradicting rule 12, because a note you gave once in March quietly beating one you gave this morning is near impossible to debug from the output side. Can you see the rule list and delete one? Derived rules you can't edit turn into folklore fast.
@asadmalik901 You can, and that worry is why. I organized rules as plain JSON files, sorted by area (cut, picture, sound…). In Takes there's a Rules board: each rule has an on/off switch, you can edit or delete it, and each area has a cap. When an area is full, Takes proposes a merge and waits for you to approve it, instead of stacking more rules. Contradictions still happen bc I contradict myself all the time with AI :D But this is how I made managing that easy for me
Nice that Takes for Mac records the talking head video and lets Claude Code handle the edit, so I can just talk and skip the timeline fiddling.
@karimbenkeroum Thanks for the support Kareem! Lmk if you have any feedback after giving it a try!
