A free, open-source Mac app for talking-head videos. A teleprompter that follows your voice, one-button recording of camera and screen, and every take in plain folders. Claude Code, on your own Claude plan, cuts the edit, makes the vertical version and drafts the posts. Leave notes on the frame; it turns them into rules and remembers them.

Takes keeps every take as a plain file on your Mac, and Claude Code edits by running commands on those files. FFmpeg is free, runs locally and does every cut, crop, caption and loudness fix. Claude Code already knows it well.

Takes is built around Claude Code. It writes the scripts, draws the storyboards, cuts the takes and drafts the posts. It reads my editing rules before every edit and checks its own work. I use Codex too, and Takes can run Codex or pi, but Claude Code is the one I trust with long, multi-step edits.
