Tablo Publishing

Customer service with Tablo is essentially non-existent. They have severe faults in their payout system and do not respond to email or site-based inquiries. Online they have a set payment schedule for royalties. I did not receive any payments at any of the scheduled intervals for my royalties. I had to email and send messages to their help centre. It took weeks to get a response and when I did get a response they sent me an e-transfer for half the royalties they owed me with no description of what the payment was for (inclusive dates). They did not explain why they only issued payment for half the royalties owing. I then followed up months ago asking where the remainder of my royalties were and when they would pay them and I have not received a response yet. They are purposefully ignoring my inquiries which is wholly unprofessional and I would never recommend their services to anyone. Don't bother it's a huge headache.

Lack of response to my emails to staff and Ash. In particular reporting, the Dashboard is constantly down and only up on the odd day or two and only when I raise the concern that it goes back up. The sales Dashboard has been in beta mode for over 2 years. I am yet to receive any royalty payments and my concerns on payment has fallen on deaf ears. No response to my email asking for an update to when I will receive payment Other observations I am making are raising some serious red flags and I am going to have to prepare a report for the Consumer Affairs department if I do not get any response to my emails and proof of sales. @tablopublishing

@photoguides Tablo is delinquent in paying the royalties I earned over the first two quarters of 2021. I've been polite in my inquiries, via Tablo's chat and email, and received an initial acknowledgement several weeks ago. But I still haven't received any payments. It's not a large sum, but the nonpayment and disregard are not acceptable.

I don’t know what’s wrong with these people, but they don’t follow through. They don’t respond to e-mails after you’ve signed up. Or if they do, it’s intermittent and much delayed, and nothing happens. There is no correction of a problem. My book has been in limbo for months. I’m not sure why they would expect a client to renew and pay the fee after the first year. Disappointing experience and curious non-action.

Tablo, to my mind, is the #1 self-publishing service. Rather than furthering the concentration of Amazon's wealth using Kindle Direct Publishing, support the underdog, based in my hometown of Melbourne, Australia. The interface is simple, beautiful and intuitive. For the price of $US399, you're paperback and ebook are distributed anywhere you could possibly want worldwide, including giants like Amazon, Apple Books and Barnes & Noble. The quality of the paperback was very decent, whereas online reviews indicated KDP was both tardy and poor quality. You could use big American comapnies like IngramSpark or Blurb, but I very was hesitant, as I'd seen self-published paperbacks printed by these services, which had the sub-par appearance of being print-on-demand, whereas Tablo gave me peace-of-mind some TLC would be given before approval. Self-publishing has the potential to be a real headache, but at the expense of a $US399, Tablo can take the pain away. Even their generic covers are quite elegant. Above all else, the customer service is very friendly. In researching, I couldn't believe the best self-publishing service was founded in my hometown.
