Without GPT-5.6, Speakworld would probably have been a concept or a simple conversation demo. I had no previous experience with web development, Three.js, or Blender—I installed Blender for the first time during Build Week.
Using GPT-5.6 through Codex changed the scope completely. Instead of a few screens, I shipped a browser-based 3D game with three explorable worlds, missions, maps, collisions, vehicles, a day cycle, guided lessons, and live voice conversations. Codex also used computer use to work inside Blender, create and refine the environments, export them, and integrate them into Three.js.
I provided the idea, product direction, decisions, testing, and feedback, while GPT-5.6 handled the technical implementation from end to end. It let me build something far more ambitious than my existing skills would normally have allowed.
Hey everyone! I built Speakworld because language learning never felt immersive enough to me. Instead of memorising phrases, you explore open worlds, complete missions, and practise live conversations with local characters.
I’d love to know which language or real-life scenario you’d want added next!

Such a cool concept, congrats on the launch! Exploring a 3D world is way more engaging than talking to an owl. Curious about the progression mechanics: do the locals' dialogues and vocabulary naturally get more advanced as you complete more missions?

Great way to understand daily conversations, duolingo designed similar gamified tasks at the end of each level recently

Congratulations! The realtime conversations and playful block-like world are genuinely charming. Such a joyful example of what becomes possible when someone simply starts building. Very well deserved! 🎉
