See your stress patterns to break stressful loops

Most stress apps tell you to breathe. Somna helps you understand why you're stressed. Track triggers, spot repeating patterns, and break the loops that keep you stuck - all privately, on-device, with no account required. Think of it as a personal stress debugger.

What do you think? …

Ben Howdle
Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Ben, and I built Somna because every stress app I tried wanted me to meditate my way out of problems I didn't understand yet. I kept noticing the same patterns in my own life - the same triggers showing up, the same reactions, the same loops playing out on repeat. But no app helped me see that. They all jumped straight to the fix. Somna takes a different approach. Instead of prescribing coping techniques, it helps you log what's actually happening - the trigger, the belief underneath it, the loop it creates - and then notice when it keeps repeating. There's something quietly powerful about seeing a pattern written down in front of you. It loses some of its grip. A few things I care about with this app: Privacy is non-negotiable. Your data stays on your device. No account. No cloud sync. No analytics. I don't want to know what stresses you out - that's yours. It's not therapy, and it doesn't pretend to be. It's a tool for honest self-awareness. Think of it as journaling with structure - enough to reveal patterns, not so much that it becomes a chore. It's intentionally simple. No streaks, no gamification, no notification guilt. You use it when something comes up, and it quietly builds a picture over time. I've been using it myself for months and the thing that surprised me most is how few patterns are actually running the show. Turns out most of my stress was about three things wearing different masks. Would love to hear what you think, and happy to answer any questions about the approach or the privacy model.

For sure and for sack of my mental health, I will not rather check my current stress level. This day is kinda stressful. :D

But wishing good luck with this, I am a huge fan of this concept! :)

@busmark_w_nika thanks! I hope this app doesn't stress anyone out - more to spot patterns over time, which (hopefully) displaces the limiting belief underneath

@ben_howdle I have my fingers crossed for your successful launch! :)
