Hey Product Hunt 👋 I’m the indie developer behind SoloSnap, a Mac screen capture app I built because I wanted recording on macOS to feel more native, focused, accessible, and dependable. A lot of capture tools feel either too limited or too crowded. SoloSnap is my attempt to hit the middle ground: simple enough to use quickly, flexible enough for real workflows, and designed to stay out of your way. Accessibility matters to me. SoloSnap uses clearer workflows, focused controls, and a Mac first experience that can work better for more people, including users with disabilities. AppCore Gets Smarter: Introducing Per-App Audio Alongside Full System Audio

SoloSnap s AppCore engine was built around a simple idea: make screen recording with application audio feel clean, predictable, and Mac-friendly.

Until now, AppCore has focused on full system audio capture. That means SoloSnap records the screen while capturing the audio your Mac is playing through the selected audio route. It is simple, direct, and easy to understand. For many users, that is exactly what they need.

Later this week, AppCore is planned to grow with a new advanced option: per-app audio.

This does not replace full system audio. It expands AppCore by giving users another way to record audio when they need more control.

Not all recordings serve the same purpose: sometimes you need a quick full-screen capture, other times precision is key whether it's a specific window, region, display, or workflow. Hence, MobilityCore is at the heart of SoloSnap's advanced screen recording features. It facilitates more controlled capture workflows by offering flexibility and accuracy in critical moments.

MobilityCore empowers advanced recording functions like window, region, and display-focused captures, as well as cursor-aware workflows, providing precision without complicating the user's experience. It doesn't enforce a single recording method but supports various paths by creating a dedicated foundation for screen capture.

One thing I keep coming back to is this: a capture app has to be useful enough to be worth having on your Mac, but simple enough that it does not get in your way.
