👋 Hello, Product Hunters! :) 🎯 I am the CTO and Co-Founder of UniOne, the service that sends billions of emails. We’ve been helping our users with reliable email delivery for years, and we practically know how challenging it is sometimes to find out why messages don’t reach their destinations. For example, one of our customers failed to send a crucial email campaign with the tickets to the business event and believed it was our fault. We were very disappointed with that situation because reliability and client satisfaction are overall for us. Yet, we could hardly prove that our system's performance was alright since we lacked information about possible user infrastructure issues. That case made me realize that we need a tool to run the SMTP session and display its complete log in real-time to see whether the connection is successful or define possible issues and their reasons. 🚀 First, we've made an internal tool for testing and debugging the SMTP session to understand better what can go wrong and provide our customers with the correct solutions. It became beneficial to our clients and us while being very easy to use. Lots of our users asked us to share such a tool with them. This is how we decided to create a free SMTP Debug Tool for a broad audience. When we started working on making this service public, we faced some extra concerns. On the one hand, even though our basic version of the SMTP Test was instrumental when setting the SMTP, using it with the existing connection wasn't very convenient. Thus, we upgraded it and added the SMTP Proxy feature for logging sendings in a previously settled environment. Meanwhile, receiving feedback from our pioneer users, we defined that some of them were concerned about the privacy and security of their credentials. And while for the customers who knew us many years before, it was enough that all the sessions were encrypted, the others seemed a bit suspicious about safety. This is why we made one extra add-on allowing users to check the SMTP connection without transferring sensitive data to us.
