Hey everyone :) Serene actually started as a small hobby project. And honestly, in many ways, it still is. I built it because I found most meditation apps like Calm or Headspace (which I love!) started to feel a bit like Netflix. There’s so much, and when I’m actually feeling overwhelmed or low, I just don’t have the energy to scroll and find the perfect session. One day, I lost a big client and was feeling really off. I opened all the usual apps but couldn’t find anything that felt right in that moment. So I quickly made something just for myself — I wrote a little script using GPT, added a narrator voice with ElevenLabs, threw in some background music from YouTube, and that was the first version of Serene. Super scrappy, but it helped. I figured maybe others feel this way too. So I cleaned it up, put it online, and here we are. I’ve kept subscriptions just to make sure I don’t completely empty my wallet while working on it haha. Right now, you can just type what you’re going through, pick how long you want to meditate, and choose a narrator that fits your mood. Each one has a different vibe — some soft and nurturing, others more grounded or wise. Still working on a few things: • The durations aren’t perfectly precise yet, but they’re close • Meditation generation can take a few seconds longer than I’d like — improving that soon! If you try it and think there’s something missing, or if you see potential in it but it’s not quite there yet, I’d really love to hear your thoughts. This is something I really needed. This is such a lovely idea, and I really liked reading your story. It’s true that when we’re feeling low or stressed, even choosing what to listen to can feel hard. The way Serene lets people just type how they’re feeling and get a meditation that fits is really helpful and kind. You’ve turned something personal into something that could help so many people.
