Hey PH 👋 I’m excited to show you our second Mac menu bar app. After IP Man (https://www.producthunt.com/post...)… here is Ping Man! 🌟 We are very close to call this a suite. Actually we already have an idea for the next app… 🤫 We really liked creating IP Man. We got the idea of Ping Man right after and were excited to launch a new Mac app. We decided to work on this less than a week ago. We never launched that quickly! So please be gentle 😄 Your feedback is highly appreciated. Ping Man is very easy to use: 👀 Always keep an eye on your ping displayed on your menu bar. ⚡️ Check which apps consume the most network. ✏️ Change the URL you want to ping.

This look like a great way to monitor bandwidth usage, I have a few questions! - Does it automatically show all apps that are currently using bandwidth? - What's the benefit of knowing when your ping hits rock bottom? 🥃😩 - Does Ping Man itself use any bandwidth that's worth mentioning?

@marcperel Hey Marc, thanks for your feedback. - It automatically shows the top 8 apps using the more bandwidth. Would you like to display more? - Since you see which apps consume the most network, you can close those you don’t need right now in order to get a better connection. Maybe your dropbox is actually downloading a huge file but it can wait. - The bandwidth consumption of a ping is marginal. We’re doing a ping every 5 sec; we’re thinking of adding a setting so you can change that interval.

@marie_dm_ i mean bars is more intuitive than numbers (check why pilots stil use needle watches) . No link but you can search. Installed it years ago
