A bad name is like a durian. You might like it, but other people find it yucky. Hi everyone šŸ‘‹ Dian here. Today, I'm super excited to launch: Name Capy, a tool that helps you brainstorm names to launch your ideas. But the story behind it is quite personal AND embarrassing: About a month ago, I did something special on my birthday: I started my company! But when my friend asked me what it's called, I found myself... tongue-tied 🫠. That's when I knew. I made a mistake. You see, naming is a separate skill, Paul Graham said it himself. I'm just glad I'm not the only one lacking it. Guess what Steve Jobs wanted to name the iMac? MacMan! And what did Phil Knight wanted to call Nike? Dimension Six! I mean, just imagine putting on a pair of Dimension Six for your run, before you have to work on your MacMan. Yuck 🤢. Then, how do I get a name that doesn't suck? ChatGPT. So I asked it for some names. It spit out a list. I don't like it. I try again. Domain unavailable ... after my last try, I thought: "I could do better. Heck. I could even use it to name itself." And so, Name Capy was born! It's by no means perfect, but it's a tool I would genuinely use for myself. And, it has a great name I'm not embarrassed by! 🄳🄳🄳 'Name', self explanatory. 'Capy', for my love of capybaras, and it rhymes with happy. Hence, ✦"Name Capy - find a (domain) name you're happy with"✦ I would love for you to try out Name Capy. āž”ļø āž”ļø āž”ļø https://namecapy.com/ Use it to name your idea and launch it into the world! šŸŽ šŸŽ šŸŽ It is FREE for a limited time (until my Open AI credits run out lol)! Share any feedback with me, good or bad. But more importantly, share some names you got from it, I'd love to hear them! Cheers! P.S. If you're still curious about the name of my company, I put it at the bottom of the page. And no, I refuse to provide any comment at this time. P.P.S. If you like the name you got, I could also design a logo for you. I just found out I like designing logos, so I'd love to pick some ideas from here and contribute to the community. Free of charge ofc. Just shoot me a message or write a review :)

Seems good, I got QSBSecure. Not flashy, but fits the vision.

congrats on the launch. the personal story behind name capy is relatable. have you found that certain types of names resonate more effectively across different sectors, or is it all about the individual brand's personality and mission alignment? any surprising trends in the names picked so far?

@mashy Thanks Albert! Unfortunately, I don't think I'm qualified to give a good answer. So I'll just borrow from Paul Graham: "It turns out almost any word or word pair that is not an obviously bad name is a sufficiently good one".
