Emre Tekneci

Hey Product Hunt! 👋

I’m Emre, the builder behind Mneme.

Honestly, this started as my university graduation project and is actually my very first Swift app. It’s simple right now, but I built it to solve a personal frustration: I was tired of "productivity" apps that felt like data entry jobs. I wanted to track my spending, calories, events, and mood without navigating endless forms and menus.

Mneme (pronounced nee-mee) is a journal that thinks like you do.

Instead of toggling switches, you just type naturally:

"Ate a burger, paid $15, Meeting tomorrow morning @ Apple Park, ☺️ feeling great today, ran 2 miles"

Powered by on-device Apple Intelligence, Mneme instantly parses that sentence to:

  • 🍎 Track calories

  • 💸 Track expenses

  • 📅 Create Calendar events & Reminders

  • 🧠 Create journal entries with moods.

It creates a "Life OS" where you can see hidden correlations, like how your work hours affect your spending or how your diet impacts your mood.

Why give it a try?

  • 🔒 Private by Design: Everything happens on-device. No servers.

  • Native & Fast: Built with pure SwiftUI and SwiftData.

  • 💸 Truly Free: Open Source (GPLv3), no ads, no subscriptions.

Since this is my first iOS project, I know there's plenty of room to grow. I’m sharing it here because I believe open-source tools can evolve into something beautiful with community support.

I’d love to hear your feedback, and please be gentle! 😅

Mneme feels like a thoughtful tool for helping users capture and recall knowledge with context. Making it easy to embed facts and reflections directly where you think and write could genuinely reduce recall friction. Congrats on launching this on Product Hunt!
