Hi, I'm Josh 👋 Long before I earned a Computer Science degree or an MBA, my dad taught me the lesson that shaped my life more than anything else: the power of compound interest. Years later, after opening investment accounts for my own kids, my daughter Everly asked me a question that stopped me: "If we invest my money... is it just gone?" She couldn't see it anymore. She couldn't hold it. To her, investing felt like losing her money and she was nervous to invest her hard saved cash. That's when I realized something: **Kids can't care about money they never see.** So I built the first version of MemoryBank in my basement—a 3D-printed frame, a homemade server, and a small touchscreen that displayed my kids' real savings, 529s and investment accounts, with the added bonus of showing our family photos from our local NAS when idle. I wanted it to be accessible to her, and able to be checked out on her time, not something I forced. What started as a project for my kids has grown into a platform that helps families connect real UTMAs, 529s, Roth IRAs, brokerage, and bank accounts so kids can safely watch their money grow, learn investing, and build healthy financial habits. My hope is simple: that MemoryBank sparks more conversations about saving, investing, and building wealth together.
