@rrhoover@daviswbaer Founder of Leeroy here, thanks for the hunt! The dapp is pretty rough around the edges but I think the UX for decentralized social is only going to get better from here.
Good eye, @daviswbaer.
While extremely awkward and hard to use, Leeroy is one of the more interesting dapps right now, replicating Twitter's basic functionality on the blockchain, powered by Ethereum. It cost ETH to register an account, post, follow, or take any action in the network.
I created an account yesterday, using the Cipher Browser on mobile. Here's my first tweet post..

@rrhoover maybe you should consider a somehow similar system implemented in @productHunt 5.0 to reward hunters and makers? 🤔
Interesting idea... I'm liking some of the neat stuff that's coming out of the blockchain concept that isn't related directly to currency.
Question: I'm an outsider to that world, but I've heard that transaction costs in the bitcoin world are getting to be a problem. Is there a point where that'd be a serious issue for something like this as well?
@jonroig That is true. But, the project can be deployed on a test-network such as Ropsten where it could be easy to use and interact with - everyone gets some free testnet coins to test with :)

I just love the fact that there is now a real alternative to twitter. You need metamask and some Ethereum to use this app as well as good knowledge of crypto-security best practices.
Pros:
I really love this app. No more censoring! What you say is on the block chain forever. Tipping built-in.
Cons:
I don't expect my mom to figure this out, but maybe that is a good thing.

You can get paid for good content, which incentivizes quality over spamminess. Hoping it takes off!
Pros:-Almost every handle is still available because not many people are on Leeroy yet
Cons:-Not many people are on Leeroy yet, so it can be lonely
-You have to pay for just about every action
Each action cost ~$0.03. Might be a glimpse into the future.
Pros:Great concept- essentially a decentralized Twitter
Cons:Can be difficult to figure out how to use (users need Ethereum to create an account, tweet, follow, etc.)
