I used Kyte during a weekend and it couldn't have been better. I received the car outside my apartment building as expected, the car was great and the return was seamless as well. Usually, I spend a couple of hours trying to get a car from a hertz location, but not this time. On top of that, the price was super convenient. You can tell that they are still growing and they have a couple of things to improve in terms of the features that their app offers, but the overall service and concept are super convenient. I don't think I will rent from an old rental car company again.

DO NOT RENT WITH THEM!!!! They didn't contest me anything when i gave back the car, after 2h overcharged 250$ sayd that the car strongly smell of smoke! But I didn't smoke sigarette!!! Asked a double check (I gave back the car with 1 day in advance, so they have all the time) or some evidences but they don't provide me anything of that... Just overcharged people because they know that people have to take a fly. I reported to the authorities as a fraud, do the same!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. We're still waiting for our car 3 hours after the reserved time. Kyte keeps delaying when the car will arrive. My weekend plans are wrecked as a result of this. I wish I just went the traditional rental car route so that I could avoid all this pain. They also have not been contacting me with any updates as to how the situation is going to get resolved. And they offered me a "generous" 25$ *future* credit, after many hours of stress for me. Honestly, unless they somehow try to make things right about my reservation, I am never going to use Kyte again.

I was excited with this service at first but extremely disappointed with their customer service. I lost an item in the rental and have been going back & forth with their team for more than a month. I haven't received any updates or communications from them. It's a great price & extremely convenient, but too early of a company with a severe lack to customer service & satisfaction. Be wary before you book with them!

Drop off a vehicle on April 9, the Kyte person said everything was perfect when checking the vehicle. 3 WEEKS AFTER : they charged me 500$ for an accident they said I reported on April 26 (FAKE - I DID NOT HAVE THE CAR : I DROP OFF THE CAR ON APRIL 9) with fake pictures. DO NOT GO WITH KYTE NEVER EVER NEVER EVER IT IS A HUGE HUGE SCAM DON'T TRUST THEM, THEY STOLE MY MONEY RECORD EVERYTHING WHEN THE KYTE SURFER COMES PICK UP THE CAR BECAUSE IF THEY CRASH IT ON THE WAY BACK THEY WILL MAKE YOU PAY FOR IT AND SAY THAT YOU DID IT

Bad customers support, misleading advertising. Will not rebound your money If you fell into their false advertising, DISPUTE THE CHARGE WITH CREDIT CARD COMPANY. Don't waist your time with their useless support!!!!

I was very skeptical about using Kyte for the first time. The price, which was about half of the other quoters I received, seemed just to good to be true. However, I tried it and was very happy that I did. The instructions for pickup were clear (just 1 block from the airport) and handoff was easy. The car was almost brand new with 5000 miles on it. The handoff was not quite as easy as it was at the major train/bus station in San Francisco, and we decided to Uber to the airport rather than haul our luggage on the train. They told us not to bother filling it up with gas, and the amount they charged was no more than we would have paid. Another thing, because of a family emergency I had to change the pickup dates a couple of times and they worked with me without any problems. Overall it was a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I likewise was excited to use Kyte. Car rentals are a stodgy business and could use some upending. Plus, prices looked competitive even in not the lowest. And yet… the service was impossible to use. The system sent me through hurdle after hurdle before the grand reveal: my account was declined. Why? How could I fix the issue? Customer service wasn't telling. Even if you were able to pass the velvet rope, I'm not sure I'd recommend the service. The options are lacking (e.g. you can't book a child seat) and maybe traditional car rental isn't that bad after all.

I researched Kyte for a drive down the coast for a long weekend and felt excited to use it. Upon drop off, the experience was seamless, as promised. A “surfer” dropped off the car during my preferred time window and off we went. Retrieval became much more complicated and not worth using Kyte again. I selected 6:00 pm for my return time. Sitting in a lot of traffic returning to the city, I began to worry about making it back on time. However, and reasonably, Kyte charges it’s users to extend their return. I made it back to San Francisco after sitting in 5.5 hours of traffic, excited to turn the car over to someone else. However, no one was there to retrieve the car, and I hadn’t heard anything via text from Kyte. I sat on hold (chat and phone) for the next hour, trying to find out when someone would be available to retrieve the car. In the meantime my subsequent travel plans (flight) were impacted while I waited around. Customer service was less than helpful and uncommunicative, and a surfer finally arrived 1.5 hours later to get the car. Contacted customer service and they offered me a credit for the inconvenience , but I won’t be using the service again.
