Capture life’s fleeting moments with simple daily doodles. No art skills needed—just draw what matters most. Joodle turns your everyday thoughts into a living visual timeline, with widgets that bring your memories right to your Home Screen. iCloud sync safely sync across all your devices. Count down to meaningful dates, explore experimental features, and discover new ways to reflect. Slowly, ordinary days transform into an extraordinary visual diary. Your story, one doodle at a time.
Hey Friends!
I built Joodle because I kept wanting to journal, but never stuck with it.
Writing felt heavy. Photos felt noisy. I wanted something lighter—something that took seconds, not commitment. One small doodle a day felt doable. Almost playful. And over time, those tiny drawings became a surprisingly honest record of my life.
Joodle is my attempt to make journaling feel less like a task and more like a quiet daily ritual. No art skills, no pressure, no accounts—just draw what mattered today and move on. Watching a year slowly fill up with imperfect little sketches turned out to be incredibly meaningful for me.
I hope Joodle helps others capture their days gently, imperfectly, and privately—one doodle at a time.
I’d love to hear what you think, and I’m happy to answer any questions. Thanks for checking it out 🫶
@malekmoumtaz Hi! Currently widget is one way to help with that reflection part. You can add a Random Doodle widget which randomly picked from your past drawings to display on your Home Screen, Lock Screen, or StandBy mode. In the future, I might introduce feature like the “Same Day Last Year” or like a “Year End Recap” to let users travel through their own history that they slowly built up!
@li_yuxuan Love it! Out of a wild idea: this could potentially evolve into an app for sketchers who want to maintain a continuous practice. Something with a daily streak, like Duolingo for people who draw
@li_yuxuan This is really nice! I've always found journaling kind of daunting, so I've never been able to stick with it. I also tried the "leave an emoji each day" trend, but emojis feel a bit too compressed for me—like they oversimplify what I actually felt.
Joodle seems to hit a sweet spot between those two. I haven't been able to try it yet since I'm on Android (Nothing phone), but I love the concept—a doodle feels just expressive enough without the pressure of writing. Cheering you on!
@li_yuxuan Congrats on the launch — love the idea 👏 I really like how lightweight and playful this feels compared to traditional journaling. Quick question: is Joodle mainly for designers or people who are already comfortable drawing?
I don’t really have strong drawing skills — would it still work for someone who just wants to capture moments without worrying about how it looks?
@lightfield Hi! That’s exactly the point hahah “No drawing skill required!” As it was not designed to be a social app, but a quiet personal app for you. You can draw anything, as long as you like it, it is the best drawing and carries meaningful memories :)

This is a calm and thoughtful take on journaling that feels very human and sustainable. Turning small daily doodles into a long term visual timeline is a compelling idea, especially with Home Screen widgets keeping memories present without friction. From a technical perspective, how are you structuring and indexing doodle data over time to support reflection features and future insights while keeping iCloud sync fast and reliable across devices?
@urvashi_misal Thank you! In Joodle, each entry is keyed by a simple date string like 2025-12-25, so to support reflection feature we can simply fetch the entry from that specific date. As for query speed, I think iCloud store is efficient enough when comes to query an entry via the index? Cos if I’m not wrong, it auto index the entry with the key (just like primary key in database)
This product is designed so interestingly and with a childlike heart. Unfortunately, I don't use an iPhone now but an Android, otherwise I really want to try it. I quite like doodling, but there may be one thing that restricts me, which is that my daily life is almost the same, getting up, working, exercising, and going home. I may not find new inspiration. As expected, I still have an adult mindset...
@josie_oy Thank you for your appreciation! Maybe you can try calendar journal! I saw people use the square block of the empty calendar as a canvas and just draw a doodle each day. It actually looks fun!

I love how this lowers the bar for reflection. One imperfect sketch a day feels much more honest than trying to write something meaningful every night.
@xiangce_sun Thank you! Yes imperfect doodles are wonderful as they are the most personal!

This is a lovely concept. I’m curious—do users tend to use Joodle more as a daily habit or only for special memories? Habit formation seems key for something like this.
@peace_augustine I hope Joodle can become the daily habit for users to jot down random thing every day haha

I've seen many journaling apps, but yours is the first one that makes me want to start doodling and recording my moments as a daily habit. Really love the playful way you chose to realize this idea.
This is a great Idea . Such a creative way to journal and be creative. Do you have any thoughts on making the year doodles larger or displaying them by month and letting users swipe for each month ..? great concept though
@matthewkerr Thank you sir! Actually I have plan to be able to export as a lock screen wallpaper with your whole year of doodles. Which will be larger because the larger dimension of the image
