IRIS Clarity uses a very different AI model to Krisp, a patented 'phase aware' model based on our wider experience and understanding of the science of sound. So far we are outperforming Krisp on the industry benchmark PESQ score (Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality), in additional to reduced latency and CPU utilisation, which is also important for some of our other uses cases including enabling large contact centres. We have tested our technology in the most extreme environments including Formula One through our partnership with Red Bull Racing (look out for IRIS on the side of their headphones!).

Will this work if I'm recording a podcast through the mac or is it only through an online conference app? Like if I would record into a recording software on the mac, will it help canceling out background noise for that recording?

Yes it works on any application where you can set the audio inputs and outputs - So if you're using something like logic, ableton or audacity you can set the input to iris clarity mic and it will clean up the mic input before its recorded yes. It can be considered as a virtual audio driver much like a sound card. Hope that helps!

Been looking for this forever - somehow some of my colleagues always sound like they’re in a wind tunnel regardless of device or connection. I’m wondering what the timeline is for windows rollout? Also, wondering if mobile apps are on the roadmap (your faq seems to imply yes but probably not for a while). Could you also explain how it works to isolate noise on both sides of the call? If the counterpart doesn’t have iris installed they hear as clearly as I do? Super interesting. Thanks!!

Regarding the Windows roll out, we're in the final stages of Microsoft certification and hope to have that wrapped up and finalised in the next two weeks. Mobile apps are on our roadmap yes - the first release there will be our iOS and Android SDKs which will allow video chat and VoIP providers to implement our tech in their products. Finally, yes the tech is bi-directional. You connect us to an app like Zoom, MS Teams, or Google meet using the audio input and output settings - one for Mic (so we process your background noise on the way out) and one for speaker (so we process everyone else's background noise before it gets to you). Hope that answers your queries!

@richinapps IRIS Clarity is currently available for Mac, with Windows launching in the next two weeks. Clarity is not available as a standalone mobile app right now, however; meeting participants using an iOS or Android device will benefit from Clarity's multi-directional feature if they are joining an online meeting where another participant is using our desktop app. In addition, we are currently in talks with video chat and VoIP platforms to implement Clarity directly into their software which will overcome the limitations of the iOS and Android platforms in running multiple audio apps concurrently.

Unfortunately, IRIS Clarity isn't available as a standalone mobile app right now, which is what you would need for it to work on a regular call. This is because of limitations of the iOS and Android platforms in running multiple audio apps concurrently, but we're working on a way to overcome that via iOS and Android SDKs which will allow video chat and VoIP providers to implement our tech in their products. Stay tuned if that's of interest!
