It's very hard to change people's existing email behaviors but I could see this being adapted for internal team communication.
A while ago I thought about hacking together something similar to fight the flood emails I received at PlayHaven. Working in product management, I received email from almost everyone in the company -- some of it urgent, potentially blocking a developer but most of it not. I wish there was a way the sender could mark specific emails as urgent or not so that I could focus on the urgent ones immediately and process the non-urgent at the end of the day.
