Loaded it up and the no-signup thing feels great, just opens and chats. Tried a PDF question and it actually pulled the right paragraph with a citation, which I didn't expect.

One thing worth knowing since you tried a file: nothing you upload is stored. Images are processed in memory and never written to disk, and a PDF only touches a temporary file for a couple of seconds while the text is extracted, then it is deleted in the same request. There is no account, so there is no profile it could be attached to either.
Where it still struggles is scanned PDFs with poor quality images. If you run into one that fails, send it my way.
the no-signup thing is so refreshing, just opened the site and asked away. the real-time web search with citations actually pulled up what i needed on the first try.

The citations are the part I keep going back to. The harder problem was not searching, it was deciding when to search: most questions do not need it, and running a live search on every message would make it slower and far more expensive for no benefit. So there is a small routing step that decides first. Getting that judgement right took longer than the search itself.
If you ever hit an answer where the sources look thin or off topic, tell me the question. Those are the cases I learn the most from.
