Brad Flora

We've been using Floot at the YC office for some of our side project ideas and it blows the other tools away. We tried to build the same thing in Lovable and it was way worse in terms of outcome and experience. If you've played with other app builders you have to try out Floot. Google wasn't the first search engine, it was the first great search engine that fully solved users needs. We think Floot's doing the same thing for app building!

Yuj Yao

@bradflora Thank you Brad! Excited to build the best app builder!

Edward Look

@bradflora Thanks Brad, super cool to see YC using Floot! Let's gooo!!

Sarah

@bradflora Thank you for your support! 🫡

I cannot tell you how thankful I am that the "root cause" the AI finds, is ACTUALLY the REAL root cause. Other apps, find so many root causes it would make your head spin, making you go round in circles, forever. And here, it finds the problem and fixes it. Impressive.

Yuj Yao

@thevalk Thank you! We invested a lot into improving the root cause ability of the AI!

Edward Look

@thevalk Thanks Val! It's been great having your testimonial on our landing page 😁

David Vargas

@thevalk Exactly! I'm so tired of that stuff.

I’ve been using Floot for a week now, and I’m genuinely impressed.

In just a few days, I managed to build the foundation of my project, and it’s already starting to look and feel like a real, working product.

This is by far the best tool I’ve tried in the no-code/AI space — fast, intuitive, and surprisingly powerful.

The only concern I have right now is pricing. I’m already approaching $400/month, and I still have a long way to go before the project is complete. I really hope the team introduces more scalable pricing as the platform matures.

Also, fingers crossed they get funding — this product has serious potential and deserves to keep growing.

Overall, I’d rate my experience 8 out of 10. A very promising tool, and I’m excited to see where it goes next.

Thank you !

Ilya

Edward Look

@ilya_davidovich Thanks Ilya! Happy to hear you built a solid foundation for your project. Pricing is something we want to optimize for moving forward!

Yuj Yao

@ilya_davidovich Thank you! Appreciate your thoughtful feedback! We also hope that as the underlying technology matures, the price will drop by itself and more people can build more complex projects.

Sarah

@ilya_davidovich The real power comes when a smart user meets a strong tool 🫡 Thank you for your support. We are working in the 2 other points to become 10/10!

I just spent an hour building a non-trivial CRUD app to test things out. I first created a PRD using gemini flash, then dumped the markdown into Floot's textbox.

There's a lot to like about Floot. It just works. The AI copilot is smart. I found it easy to get into a flow.

In particular, what I found nice is that it picked up on the limited scope of the initial build, respecting the aspects listed as out of scope in the product spec. After completing the first phase, it turned those items into tasks to complete, a pleasantly unexpected flourish.

It handled a sizeable refactor to add in team-based projects well. This is likely a perk of the tightly integrated stack. The live preview allowed for an immediate feedback loop: new feature > test it out > find a bug > fix it. It was pretty seamless.

I'm not necessarily a target user, however, so the all-in-one nature of the product makes it a little tough to adopt as my go-to tool. If my one-hour test is any indication, I'd need a plan at $250-$500 a month to sustain progress. Objectively speaking, it's a great value if you're building a business, but less than ideal for testing and iterating on ideas.

In my view, building and hosting are two separate value props. An alternative pricing model with a fixed price for hosting (especially an a la carte option to add a custom domain) would be nice. But I understand "the bundle" is the point, and it's easy enough to grok for someone looking to avoid complexity.

You can eject code, but I haven't figured out how much work would be required to self-host. Also notable, it doesn't seem possible to export data from the db on a free plan.

All that said, I'd happily recommend Floot to anyone looking to build something real, and quickly. The product delivers.

Overall, I give Floot a 4.7/5

Edward Look

@thedatadavis Wow thanks for the detailed feedback, Chris! Very good points.

We plan on releasing a detailed pricing model for hosting very soon since oftentimes people will finish building their app and just want hosting. We wanted to keep in simple to start off, but will definitely adapt to what our users want.

For exporting code - we definitely need to do some work there to make it more runnable out of the gate - since it's missing some entry files. We didn't focus on that initially because we were focusing on optimizing the experience for non-coders who typically don't self-host, but it's something that has been requested by users who want that control.

We don't have an export data from DB feature yet, but it is planned! For now, you can always contact our support and we'll send you a database dump manually.

Chris Davis

@edlook Totally understand the initial focus. You guys have knocked the core use case out of the park. And good to know re: manual dump, will keep in mind. Your response here exemplifies the excellent service other commenters have mentioned.

I've seen a few mentions of Floot on reddit the past couple of weeks, but was definitely surprised by how well it works. I have been exploring the idea that an AI app builder should start with a predefined and calibrated tech stack, and I now consider the notion validated. I can pivot my project's focus elsewhere lol.

Great minds thing alike 😉

Yuj Yao

@thedatadavis Thanks for the thoughtful feedback! Ed already replied about the hosting and data export, I am curious though, do you find the all-in-one tied to the higher price? I imagine for a non-all-in-one case, you may probably have to spend the same or maybe more tokens and therefore price on building out comparable functionalities. Just curious how your impression of this being expensive comes from.

Chris Davis

@yujian You're probably right for the initial phase. Getting the app up and running will take a lot of credits, but the need likely tapers off once you reach a steady state (with occasional spikes as you add features).

That said, as the app grows, so does your storage and compute, so the subscription becomes fungible in that it pays for the infrastructure when I stop building (as much) without having to think about it. In that case, you could always downgrade to a smaller plan when stable and upgrade during periods of development.

I think this is both reasonable and fair, and easy enough to understand.

When I say it's not ideal for my testing and iterating (essentially throwing ideas at the wall), I'm comparing it to my current workflow using Firebase Studio to scaffold, then moving to Gemini CLI for polishing, and leveraging free tiers of various services to get to production for ~$0. The marginal cost of adding a new feature with this setup is monetarily free, though it is probably ~20% more expensive in time spent and complexity vs using Floot (for me).

But this is also why I mention I'm not an exact match for your ICP (for now). I certainly imagine a time in the future when I'd gladly trade a couple hundred bucks for ease of use and improved time-to-market.

Sarah

@thedatadavis Incredibly thoughtful feedback. Thank you for recommending Floot and we would love to see what you build next.

Domhnall O' Hanlon

I've been using Floot for the past 2 months, and here's why it stands out from the competition:

TL;DR

In just 2 months, I completed 2 SaaS products and 3 small apps that I had been dragging along with freelance devs for over 5 years. If that doesn't convince you, read on.

Floot gets you.

Unlike most AI tools that force you to adapt to their limitations, Floot adapts to you. It feels like working with a highly intuitive team that just gets what you're trying to build.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Three AIs work in sync

  2. The first AI interprets what you actually mean and translates that into actionable steps.

  3. The second AI builds it.

  4. The first AI then reviews the result, fixes bugs, and ensures it meets your intent.

  5. If something still doesn’t work, the third AI kicks in to debug and correct the course.

The result? You can one-shot most ideas and then fine-tune features with incredible efficiency. It's almost like pair programming with a genius that never sleeps.

Built-in hosting and database, no extra bills

Floot includes hosting and database out of the box, so you’re not juggling third-party services like Netlify, Supabase, or Firebase. Want to move your project elsewhere? You can download the full code and database at any time. Total freedom, no vendor lock-in.

Human support that actually cares

Support isn’t just AI chatbots giving scripted answers. You get help from real humans who guide you, brainstorm features with you, and genuinely care about your progress. It’s rare and refreshing.

Final thoughts

Floot isn’t just another AI builder, it’s a game-changer. If you're tired of slow dev cycles, unclear AI tools, and surprise hosting costs, give Floot a try. It made me finish what I couldn't in 5 years, and that says a lot.

🚀 Highly recommended.

Edward Look

@fuzhyperblue Thanks for the feedback! It was awesome having you a customer these past 2 months 🫡

Yuj Yao

@fuzhyperblue Thank you for the thoughtful feedback!

Sarah

@fuzhyperblue Even the sharpest tool is useless without a skilled hand to guide it. - I'm not sure who said this but I would say it applies to you! Thank you for supporting us!

Hamraj Kumar

I am in love with Floot! I started using it a week ago and have already launched a job directory for a niche, and real people have started using it too. It is magic how fast an idea becomes reality. Love it.

Yuj Yao

@hamraj Thank you! We love to continue to support you building out your ideas

Edward Look

@hamraj Thanks for the kind words Hamraj! If you have any suggestions on how we can do better, feel free to let us know too!

Hamraj Kumar

@edlook I would love to share another win first, Floot suggested using SendGrid for OTP verification, but I requested MSG91 instead—and it implemented it successfully.

One suggestion/question I’d like to share is that sometimes the AI makes mistakes, and as a result, users have to provide another prompt, which consumes additional credits. I’m curious to see how you’ll optimize this in the future. Overall, a wonderful product!

Edward Look

@hamraj Yeah it can be frustrating for users to use their credits on fixing mistakes instead of building out their core app. LLMs are great but not perfect so it's a continual race to handle edge cases as we learn about them. We encourage customers to reach out to support as soon as they see the AI failing to fix something repeatedly - so we can see if we can update our system to account for it (so all users can benefit). We're hoping that LLMs get better in the future though so we don't have to worry as much about this 😅

In terms of credit usage - we're exploring the idea of making error fixes free. A good number of users have asked for it. It's not always clear whether something is a mistake or not unless it's some static runtime error, but it's something we want to reliably distinguish in the future if we go the "free fixes" pricing route.

Sarah

@hamraj Pair a great tool with a skilled user with a good idea and there’s no limit 🫡 Thank you for your support.
